Doesn't really matter. Ps3 limitation is the reason this game won't get anywhere. I just cant wait for SE to implement their "huge map fort pvp battle" just so i can see how dumbed down and bad it is because it need to be playable on a toaster

I love the sarcasm in this post - Considering Leviathan was never ever stated to be fought in an big open ocean or anything. XI has been running for 11 years now, you're right, consoles WILL hold back an MMORPG from going anywhere....

I wish it was that simple, would solve a lot of issues and stuff holding back the game. They keep on saying it's not holding back the game but come on, there isn't enough memory to handle all the UI that PC can show and in order to solve that issue they have to take stuff away to get other UI's in, it's alright now but 5yrs down the line it's going to show up more and more for sure. Minagawa-san keeps on mentioning the memory situation with the PS3 so there is proof that there is PS3 issue. Now the PS4 is much more flexible since it has much more memory than 256MB so devs got more room space to work with.

However, I believe there is some type of contract between SCE and SE that the game needs to be released on the PS3 and that's why they had and promised to do it.
So... basically we're stuck with this, until that contract or w/e agreement is finished.

Note: Not saying the PS3 can't do all the things, it probably can but in order to do that you have to free up that much memory to get the other stuff in. It's not an easy task, and also probably one of the reasons why it requires extensive Q/A to make sure it works on both platform.

You really going to use a fight no one seen yet as an example lol and a 25 seconds video that only shows one tank and Leviathan jumping in and out of water doesn't count.

SE will drop ps3 support, just like they dropped ps2 support for ffxi, but it won't happen for 10 years.

I didn't like the direction the game was going (an exemple being crystal tower being in a patch after coil. A patch that's all about gearing alts is weird

Ps3 limitation as previously stated. I don't expect to see any interesting fight mechanic, massive battles or open world anything

Really minor one being class balance. Bard didnt need a nerd, monk didnt need a crazy damage buff. they needed QoL things. BLM didnt deserve to get their single target dps nerfed because of a "bug fix" to astral/umbral. Most if not all fight favor ranged over melees

I hope this is so in 3-4 years. But right now it seems like an unreasonable request. The PS4 users base just isn't there.
To force people to spend $400 on a system with limit games. FFXIV would be out of reach today for many people.

FF XI flopped because it was pc only... Thats why they remade it and put it on the ps3... Face it not everyone who plays video games plays on a pc, I prefer playing on my ps3 or ps4 It's easier for me to enjoy myself in game...

If you want PC only then go back to XI
