Take a break from FF and play another game or do something totally different for a bit, go to the gym, the pool, take a walk or just go to a nice cafe and watch the world go by
I know we're all paying subs for the game but it doesnt mean we have it all the time, doing that it gets boring (all games do), I personally think that at £7.69ish p/m as long as I squeeze out 8hrs a month its worth it, based on £1 per hour of playtime.

Oh I've still got loads to do on here, still not got Lv50 yet but I dont have much playtime these days, But i'm enjoying the time I do get on here

Nabiri, there's a reason people post with black text. Some people have poor vision and will not be a me to read in other colours. It's polite to post in black.

OP. It actually reads like you're depressed. If the game is making you feel like this, then walk away from it now. No game is worth making you feel like that.

    As for the TC:

Farming isn't for everyone. No big. If you want to remain interested in the game, but are currently bored, the best thing to do is take a break. I played from closed beta phase 2 all the way to the end of November before breaking off for a bit to do other things. I'll be picking back up in February. Try taking it easy as well. Take your time with things, don't sit there in front of it for 12 hours a day, etc. the easier you take it, the longer you'll enjoy it.

I played almost every day from 1.0 through to the end of 1.23, took my time, never ran out of things to work on, and enjoyed the whole way.

Now ARR has a myriad of things to do, but I don't find it fun anymore. Most days I just sit around town and chat with my best friend for a while before logging out.

In the old version we had a small-ish LS, but we did things together every day as soon as enough people logged in to form a party. Now in ARR everyone just logs in and goes off to DF immediately and we never see each other.

LS chat is pretty much just paltry greetings when people come and go, peppered with an occasional "I beat [whatever]" to which come the half-hearted "Congrats" replies -- I say 'half-hearted' because none of the experience, pain or joy was shared in any way so it's just an obligatory response out of politeness.

I was never interested in games. But FFXIV hooked me because I felt like I was part of a small band of friends, who were part of a larger community, who were facing a world full of danger and uncertainty. ARR has none of that sense of adventure.

I'll probably stay around a bit longer... but it's not for FFXIV anymore.

I could do campaing or NM hunt all the day in ffxi, or behest in 1.0, but here... i just don't have fun anymore, and just like me everyone will get bored sooner or later, it's not the nature of the genere, it's the game disign, ARR have been designed like an arcade game, everything is repètitive and boring, you have to learn every dungeon and fight to get more tomes and gear, there are more things to do, but none of them are rewarding at all, make high lvl FATEs to get 3 tomes? daily quest to get 3 tomes and unlock a mount you can buy for 120k? that's boring and rewardless, i want to get my tomes like everyone, but hell, im tired of dungeons and primals. and the only content SE is developing is the same we already have, primals (school tests) and dungeons, this game needs personalization, rewarding open world content, fun and dangerous bosses and dungeons, not school tests, this game needs adventure!

Like i said, ARR is an arcade game, and arcades get boring sooner or later, for everyone.

PD: before someone says "just leave", i'll give this game a year just because i love final fantasy.

The bold is what I feel resonates with me strongly here, I despise the DF for this reason.

DF makes the game so much more fun for people who don't have time for a massive FC but it does also make other players kind of faceless.

For this reason I hope we'd get a few open world dungeons just to add variety and to create that need for communication.

Everything you do for progression is instanced, and 50% of it is just a room with a boss. What isn't, doesn't rewards anything meaningful. Of course people will get bored.

That's cool, and I respect their decision to do so. There's also reason I type in purple text.
Being very blind myself, I chose a very dark colour and a font that is easy on my eyes.

I believe that what people say and how they say it is far more important than colour of text as far as politeness goes. I wouldn't judge a person as rude if they were typing in a colour that they preferred. Please keep in mind that everyone is different - (black may not be easiest for everyone to read).

I think this may be one of the biggest problems with the game right now. It feels so lonely. Friends log in, say hi, do their own thing, and log out. I would love to see more content to get people from the same server together. There should be more LS/FC content. Much of the content in FFXI needed linkshell members to get together to accomplish things. I sure miss that camaraderie.
It's unfortunate, but since the easiest route to accomplishing something is often the duty finder, most people don't bother to team up with friends.

If it wasn't a Final Fantasy game I would have quit ages ago. I only play now because I love the races and enjoy crafting. But that alone isn't enough. I can't say I'm having fun. It's just something I play as a distraction from real life.
But I'm giving it some time. A year or so. If the game isn't fun for me by then maybe I'll need to move on.

After eight years, FFXI had had at least three expansions along with major content additions roughly every three months. Folks were kept occupied between expansions by making the various grinds very slow - you could exp in a hardcore exp-farming party for an entire evening and only get half a level at higher levels, you could do Dynamis for years before getting that specific drop you wanted, etc.

FFXIV is young, and more than that it is FAST. After so many years of FFXI, people have become tired of the endless grind. SE caved to these desires to stay competetive, and as a result, content wears out faster than SE can keep people engaged with new content. There's still a grind, but it takes about a tenth the time it did to do anything in FFXI. A greater number of people are able to finish all each expansion has to offer, LONG before the next expansion comes.

I'm torn as to whether this is good or bad. For a semi-casual player like myself, who plays each week with VERY casual players, it's nice that we can get so much done in the four hours or so a week we play together as a group. For more hardcore players who prefer to devote a lot more time to playing, it's easy to see how you can run out of things to do in much shorter order, especially if there's content you simply don't care for, like Gathering or Crafting.
