From what I understand, FFXIV is actually cross platform - you can get the PS3 version, then later buy the PC version and just have to register it to your existing FFXIV account and you'll be able to play your existing characters on the new version.

The only thing that isn't added is the '30 days free' bonus - that only applies to a new account, not an existing one. Buying a new copy of the game doesn't transfer the 30 days free to your existing characters. But other than that, you can definitely get the PC version and use your characters you created with your PS3 version (or vice versa).

Actually Enki my love, extra 30 days ARE indeed added to existing accounts. ((which Grembo was correct, in regards to his reply to you, however rude he was with that reply.))
When I signed up for my PS3 CE, it was a month or two after my PC version had been active and it was at that time I linked the two. The PS3's 30 days added onto my time (( which is why my subscription rewards are a month behind yours. I didn't start paying for an extra month thanks to the two 30 days stacking ^^))

There was no need to come off so rude with your reply y'know. There are ways to dispute something said without sounding like a jerk.

No jerkiness here, simply saying that her statement was wrong.

Lazy? Sure but jerk is a bit strong when there was no dispute to be made and the OP's question only needed a yes/no answer.

I never paid for FFXI I simply downloaded playonline viewer and signed up for the 15 day trial being playing for over 6 years but i did have to pay for the Xbox 360 version and each expansion pack.
