I queue up for PS on duty finder by preference (healer). Just because it's about the only dungeon in game that is not a complete breeze through. I subscribed to this game to have fun. And fun is not running CT mindlessly on your backbone.
People should embrace the challenges a game provides them. And the challenge only increases when people are relatively undergeared or inexperienced.

I'm hoping for similar dungeons like this in the future.

I do agree that rewards could be increased for this dungeon. And if not an increased iLvL, either by cosmetic items or minions. It's definately more difficult then crystal tower and rewards should be appropriate

So far, I ended three times in Pharos through the DF. Two times I was ALONE in the dungeon and the third time another player was still there but AFK lol. When you ask around why people do not enter this dungeon, the answer is most of the time "i am afraid that people will complain and start bitching as soon as I make my first mistake".

This is actually a real problem as far as I see it. The toxic part of the FF14ARR community is one of the major reasons why people are afraid to dive into new content, especially when they hear that the dungeon is more difficult than the ones they know.

Imo they should add a Mentor role when you apply for a dungeon. Independent of what job you wanna play, there should be an option to volunteer as a Mentor. People can ask them for tactics and maybe even hints to play their class better. When you search for a party there should be checkbox (like the one for taking part in ongoing runs) that ensure you only enter runs where at least one of the players is acting as a Mentor.

This way especially newer players would be less afraid to enter a dungeon for the first time. And the Mentor should, in addition to a good feeling to have helped others to find their way through a dungeon, receive a 100% commendation extra, no matter if the other players have chosen him or not as an extra reward.

This. I like challenges, but not with strangers who wait nothing but barking at you when things go wrong. I guess that's why most people stay away from puging that place. I'm happy to run it with friends, but with a pug no thanks.

Getting rid of the DF is, in my oppinion, a good first step to reduce bad-ass-ness in instances.
    Because:
    - People have to communicate again.
    - People have to deal with server-only player pool
    - People will be made responsible for bad-ass-ness (good or bad?)

    Concerning the dungeon:
It is a well done dungeon, good mechanics, good bosses (ok No3 not) and a good story behind.
Unfortunatly SE will nerf it, 'cause the numbers show less interest from the community. The numbers are absolutely false interpreted. The intended gear-entry-level was set false by SE, if you count in the avarage potential of the community. And the carrot at the end of the stick is shrunken to oblivion.

    PS:
Did anyone manage to finish the dungeon with iLvl 48-55 gear?
I for one hadn't had the time to try, did someone had?

    I like Random-Number-Generator
'cause I'm able to accept that
a dice normally has six sides
    a pyramid has 5 sides
    a toast has 2 sides
AND I CAN'T PREDICT WHICH SIDES IT FALLS TO.

I finished it as a iLvl 54 war, maybe me month ago, it was my first run too, but I had insanely good dps and an amazing healer. Did it 5 times after that and managed only one win ( although my iLvl is much higher now). All in all I feel that this dungeon will become easier with time once more people know it better
However I definitely think rewards should be better

I have only completed this dungeon once and since then every time I get it, people either vote abandon or start, wipe then vote abandon. No one wants to do this dungeon.

I was looking for JUST this thread! I got Pharos for the first time via duty roulette the other day and half of the people that showed up quit or dc'd. We wasted a good 20-25 minutes just waiting for new people to join that we ended up running out of time! The worst part was that the dungeon was fairly easy (even for me as a first timer). We died once on the first boss, once on the second, not at all on the third, then got stuck at Siren for a bit before our last try was utterly wrecked by lag.

Now Siren seems to be the hardest part of the dungeon but our final group was good enough that the extra 20-25 minutes would have probably seen us clear it. At least give it a good try before you decide to ditch. And one wipe is not a "good try" sorry.

I enjoy Pharos Sirus. I know the fights, can explain them to first timers and have successfully lead a group of 3 first timers to victory in it.

PS is not a dungeon DPS can brute force like the rest. 3 of the 4 bosses require throttling dps since the Captain, Zu and Siren's adds spawn based on their hp. This is why some groups find the fights "to hard."

Pharos Sirius is one of my favourite dungeons for this fact. I'm so sick of dps races that it's a very refreshing change. I was always more into planning ahead than "dodge this and burn this asap". I love healing the Siren fight, it's challenging, but not nerve wrecking (I'm looking at you, Twintania).
