That post is neither reasonable or well thought out, I am sorry to say.Actually, as a current player, I have posted a pretty clear and defined expectation of what I want that I think is reasonable and well thought out. Its a paste over post from one I made on the CORE and its on page 35 of this thread. Its easier to be snide than it is to offer well thought out opinions about what you want. As evidenced by most of your posts.
I wasn't going for a rebuttal really. Your post is full of emotion and frustration, which is understandable but not always reasonable. Their is a large focus on content in the post, which I can again understand because I too have been bored since I first reached my max level.
I get it, but I don't agree with it. I could sit here and say all the things I have said in the past and give my reasons but know that I will be labeled as a fanboy when I do. I have consigned myself to wait. The content may not seem like much, but hopefully it will have something to keep us busy with, at least for a little while, which would be a welcome distraction.
So its unreasonable to expect them to continue to give us content that is aimed at the players that purchased the game instead of making content thats aimed at players that havent even purchased the game yet? A company the size of SE should be able to do both I would think. I am not expecting a full expansion already or anything, but the "content" they have given us so far isn't aimed at the existing player base. You have your mind made up and I totally understand your willingness to wait, but I find the way they are going about things to be a disservice to those of us that have stayed with them consistantly for this long.I wasn't going for a rebuttal really. And no offense Monkey, but with the game in the state its in, you having multiple jobs at 50, and post on here daily, your in the fanboy camp whether you want to be or not.
Not at all, it is unreasonable to expect content when the core systems are under a complete redesign process. I hear what you are saying about the people who have stuck with the game and how little we have to do, but the more they put in before the basic mechanics are fixed, the more they are going to have to go back and fix it all again which will delay the content even further. So its unreasonable to expect them to continue to give us content that is aimed at the players that purchased the game instead of making content thats aimed at players that havent even purchased the game yet? I don't consider myself to be a fanboy because the term 'fan' derives from the word 'fanatic' and I am not fanatic over anything. I don't like any current MMO on the market and that is why I am where I am. If you look at the population who still plays hardcore, you will find that I am WAY behind the curve. I think I am rated 19,000 on FFXIV pro across the whole game. I'm on here daily because I get bored at work.
I see what your saying, but I dont think that adding level 50 faction leves, level 50 nms, or higher level side quests would require much in the way of fine tuning once the core mechanics were changed. If it did, they would not have added the lower level side quests, the lower level nms, and the lower level leves that they already have. I am not asking for SKY or Dynamis style zones or even new jobs yet, merely something that makes the game worth playing (besides the awsome community) while they work on the things they need to. I am not hating on them doing what they have to do to fix the game, I just don't see the point of running this as a released title if they can't continue to update it with new content for existing players while they do what they need to.Not at all, it is unreasonable to expect content when the core systems are under a complete redesign process. Yes. It is unnreasonable. SE's goal is a mmo product that is worthy of public attention in multiple countries, not a "love letter" to the fans.
your second option fufills the first(a mmo appealing to many audiences but not fans will get new players to buy it, creating fans), you first option does not fufill the second(a mmo appealing to ff fans, but not appealing to the public, will fail).
We don't need a reward for playing this game until all the fixes are in and they are ready for subs.
If the PS3 release becomes a success, that'll be its own reward.
But it can't be a success by wish lists and apologies alone.
