    I was referring to new zones, not new open-world content. Besides, anything is possible - the FATE system has already reached the limit of how many can spawn in a zone, so it's not like new ones can be added. The game will continue to evolve and change as time goes on. Everyone needs to stop being so negative and have a little common sense, that what the game is like now is not necessarily how it will be in five years time.

    After all, just look at FFXI - FFXI is now nothing like it was at launch, or even two years after launch. It's gone through so much modifications and content changes and additions over the last decade to almost be a totally different game now. The same will happen to ARR - it's how MMOs are. Players just need to stop being so impatient and negative about everything.

    It will become more polish but I don't really see mmos changing much. We'll get more primals, different difficulty settings, different zones, same style combat mechanics such as dodging tank swaps, in n out dodging, plumes, etc. Let's say they make a new gathering job you're most likely going to the same locations pressing x , x , x , x. There's a cause for concern.

    I'm sorry, but that's just plain Bananas. Getting the CoP ring or Gembu's mitten, or Kirin Osode felt more like a "progression" than anything XIV did. That's because these items were rare, had unique stats and effect.

    Compared to them, XIV is static as they come. "vertical progression with a small mix of horizontal"? Bananas! XIV is linear as hell, there is no variety, no interesting gears. Every set piece is automatically better than another because the only difference between gears is stats. I played as a SCH and I virtually had no Gears choice. Now, compare it to my BLM in XI, and there difference in gear progression is simply abyssal. Heck, in XIV because of the gear progression you can easily skip gears tier with no problem, 1-49 gears are useless, most CT is just there if you don't have the myth yet and it happens to drop. Every old gear released with old content is automatically made useless since the system favor the last level gear (Remember the Gears in 2.1 the new HM dungeons dropped? Yeah...)

    It doesn't help that the game literally gives you free BiS for free via tomes and everyone has them, so where are you getting the sense of accomplishment and progress from?

    Who the hell needs a sense of accomplishment from a damned video game?

    Whatever happened to playing games because they were a fun thing to do? Why does it always have to be about lording over other people, deriving pleasure from the misery of others, looking down on them and pissing on them because you're the "best?"

    Maybe it would be good, as example, if there would be 10 different ilevel 90 set for each class where only the first 2 stats are the same and the other stats are different on each set.
    Next update, next ilevel tier, next 10 set.

    The game has this already, it's kinda pointless since stats are basic as hell and there is pretty much always a best stat for every job.

    I'm losing interest pretty fast in XIV, where you can get all the things done for the week in 1-2 days, then what's the point the rest of the week. And 2.2 isn't looking like anything exciting that'll keep people's attention either. Two new hard mode dungeons, 1 new dungeon, Levi and Extreme Mog. People will say that's plenty, but be honest, people are only going to do those 3 new dungeons once, figure out which is the fastest and never touch the others again, just like people will beat Mog and Levi and either do them a few times for the gear (if worth it) or never touch it again (look at the HM primals, once for relic, never again). Which again, is around a week or so of content that's expected to last us another 6 months.

    9 years of XI and I've gone back multiple times and each time I went back, I felt the urge to play it all day, every single day and never get bored and that's not even with endgame stuff, that's just XI in general, it was fun and kept your attention. But XIV? I can get on right now, get my CT gear, do my dailies then be kind of bored.
