    Potent Poisoning Potion Tests

    Hey Guys,

    I've done some extensive research on PPP, and here are the results:

    PPP NQ and HQ Stack
    1 PPP (HQ) has a 1m48sec CD
    1 PPP can be casted off the GCD
    1 PPP must be casted in melee range
    1 PPP breaks Melee Combo skills, so make sure to cast them before or after the combo starts/finishes
    1 PPP (HQ) does an average of 49~51 dmg per tick
    1 PPP (HQ) does 5 ticks over the duration of 15 sec
    1 PPP (HQ) does on average 250 dmg over 15 sec
    1 PPP (HQ) can have its duration extended by Garuda-Egi's Contagion Skill, therefore doing more ticks (50dmg per tick)
    8 PPP (HQ) does on average 2000 dmg over 15 sec

    Conclusion:
    Tanks & Melees should always use PPP, since there is no downside to it.
    However BLMs, and Healers should refrain from moving to apply PPP, with the exception that, if you are already in melee range, then just do it.

    PPP overall seems mediocre, but although it does less dmg than I expected, it's still a useful off the GCD tool to use for the extra dmg, however small it is...

    Thank you! I've thought about testing their worth for a long time now, and I've also believed that the data would show that they're at least moderately useful, but I've just never really had the will to go test it myself. So, I guess I'm just really glad someone's finally put the work into testing this.

    Any MNKs or DRGs care to comment on this? Off-GCD cooldown or not, 250 damage does seem pitiful, especially if it comes at the cost of breaking or delaying a combo (no idea how much downtime melees get so wondering). Although for tanks, if a fight lasts, say, 10 minutes, then total damage comes out to 2.8k (rounded) - not bad I guess, but I have to question if it's worth the time/cost of making them since people will be blowing through stacks (depending on the raid).

    Maybe. You'll lose the Dis -10% piercing reduction for the ID after Sweep and the +30% damage from BFB for the TT before it.

    ID's base damage potency is 180 when delivered from the back. +15% from Heavier Thrust and multiplied by 10/9 with Dis effect on means it does 230 on a good/perfect execution with these buffs on. Losing Dis results in it only doing 207 meaning a 23 damage potency loss.

    Give both those buffs for TT which has a base damage potency of 150, it does 191.6. Adding the 30% damage buff from BFB, it'll do 241.6 resulting in a damage difference of 50.

    50 + 23 = 73 possible loss in damage.

    The base GCD combo is 24 moves which means it'll take 1 minute to properly execute. I can see it being reasonable.

    Well, it doesn't cost TP at least. Use in fights where that becomes an issue I guess.

    Do buffs help its damage? GL3/Heavy Thrust/Raging Strikes etc? I could see using this on SMN with contagion if you're keen enough to be running in doing bio/miasma2 for it.
