lol... okay..
I dunno about you, but it does mean something to me when it says in large red font "Content under development." What we were shown is an example of the auto-attack and many noticeable changes. Icons have been changed, Timers are changed, new animations. This is just the foundation of the skyscraper they are planning to build. Honestly, you cannot say whether the entire system is good or bad yet. From what I see, I'd personally be okay with it, but not at all satisfied. Once implemented, and based on player feedback, the speed and algorithms can easily be changed.
So after this system is all finished and we get to try it for ourselves, i could see how one can complain.
FFXIV was failed and these people try to keep it in their dream, like the Dream Zanarkand but this is Dream Eorzea
That's why I also said in my post that we obviously haven't really experienced it yet so I could be wrong and hopefully I am. I'm not complaining. I'm simply making an observation and curious to see what others think. Tho even with the disclaimer "subject to change" I don't think it's too crazy to worry a bit considering the video wasn't exactly mind-blowing and we have been promised salvation updates since September to no avail. I hope for the game's sake that it's an awesome update and the battle system kicks ass. We'll see.
Its funny TC you think SE is changing the game because people are asking for changes but more than that SE is changing the game because it needs changing. In regards to the battle system, people never said, "give us auto attack," people simply asked for a more rewarding battle system and SE thought it through and they decided their original battle system is crap...it was alright at best, nothing special, and auto attack wont make it worst but hopefully better.
The hatred towards the original crap that was the notorious XIV shouldn't be used as an excuse to just throw out everything in the game but instead evolve it and revamp it.
