all this haste and AA talk reminds me of making gear switch macros then going into battle and spamming them in the fights.

Unfortunately FFXIV prevents this behavior from being effective by inhibiting stats upon swapping equipment.

I happen to personally like not having to hit equipment macros and watch my character undress redress undress again and do an invisible dance right before certain skills.
