    Melee DPS not allowed anywhere, Thx SE.




    Getting old pretty quick, currently unsubbed running out my last 20 days going back and forth deciding whether I want to stay or not.

    Would love to stay, been playing FF games since I was like 12. But putting all this time into my Dragoon and not being able to bring it anywhere is making me aggravated.

    "Just play another class" - I do I have 5 50s all geared in DL or better.
    "Make your own party" - Yeah okay so no one will join??

    Insight or even negative comments welcome, I could just be being a bitch here, but please SE fix this. 2.2 I'll resub for a month but it may be the last straw. If the fights don't become even or Melee dps get a buff to the point to where its delusional not to have one of us in a group I'm bailing.

    This is simply a direct result of SE designing the battle mechanics in V2 as basically FPS 'twitch' mechanics where fight difficulty is largely determined by the scale and frequency of AoEs; V1 was nothing like as crass.

    It's truly abysmal how many key fights make melee DPS a liability while ranged can often stand around uninterrupted or even if they have to move of course Archers/Bards can DPS on the run; fights like Titan HM illustrate this so well.

    We need more of this.

    Hopefully SE will get their shit together and make mechanics that challenges everyone, instead of just buffing melee damage over and over.

    Twintania favors ranged as well. Due to dreadknights, the melee have to know when they are coming out run to the outer edge of the battlefield incase the dreadknight targets them, while running away they certainly are not dpsing twintania, while a ranged can always stand in the back swap to twintania and swap to the dreadknights as they come out.

    We can only hope, I think I read somewhere that melee DPS will be punished less in future fights but im not positive. I hope so, id like to be on the same level as rdps.

    Those are the ignorant groups. World's first Twintania had a Monk in the party, and I've managed to dodge Wicked Wheels perfectly in Garuda Extreme and am able to predict them and react accordingly, and good luck with having no Melee limit break to help you out. If you can't adjust your strategy based on the roles of the group, then you are just being lazy.

    it wont change same thing in FFXI & FFXIV v1.

    you just "thorw BLM's at it." unless they make melee OP i dont see people changing there minds about ranged dps. people dont care if you make a party there looking for the easy win.

    Bards DPS on the run, but what if they suffered a damage penalty while on the move. BLM and SMN have to stop casting to move, and I just think it would make sense as trying to run and pull on a bow would be difficult. So weaken the BRD while moving. As a MNK i hate hearing people groan when the instance loads because i'm not a BRD. "forget the speedrun guys, we got a monk." The only time i ever felt useful was during ADS in Coil Turn 1 maintaining silence.....yeah that was pretty much it.
