As a sch, I love when people go after my eos. I can usually get off enough casts between the tank on me to keep eos up + with sustain. Also even if you manage to kill eos, my dps have usually already killed 2 of the people on the enemy team. When I see people trying to kill eos I end up laughing as their dps could be better spent trying to kill me.

I can see it working in a complete 4-pug team vs a 3man premade, or if the sch is just really bad...but I wouldn't really suggest this method to anyone.

edit: I have said eos a lot in this post.

Maybe in solo queue when you have dead weight filling in sides, but this method will not work in coordinated play. You're giving the enemy DPS and tank free reign to do whatever they want. In terms of variables the odds do not favor this approach.

    What she said
Only strats better than this gem of pvp ingenuity are famous "Eos in the middle", "Swiftcast Holy spam" and ofc "B4B jumping in 1v4 while LoSing your healer"

There are times when this strategy is helpful. Generally, I agree that it only works in random groups, not in coordinated play. It's very common for SCH to position the fairy in the middle of the room or at the corner of one of the walls so that, as they kite the melee/tank, they can pass by the fairy for heals. In that situation, it's not terribly useless to kill the fairy.

That said, if your tank and/or melee are on the fairy, this leaves the scholar available to heal their teammates, who will make short work of your healer/ranged dps while you busy yourself with the fairy.

Also, any healer on any decent team with have the points for the PVP Raise ability that is far superior to Swiftcast+Resurrection (it requires only one ability and gives the raised target 50% health and no weakness). So, even if the scholar is stupid or otherwise occupied and allows you to kill Eos, they can just Swiftcast+Summon or get to a safe spot for hardcast [Surecast+]Summon.

A somewhat better strategy that I use (as summoner) is to pop my DOTs on Eos when the healer uses Attunement (assuming that the fairy is nearby / on "Heel") and then quickly pop Bane when Attunement wears off. Not only does this put up DOTs on the healer, it also forces them to decide whether or not to use Leeches on the fairy.

Bad teams only let the SMN reek havoc. u_u Trinkets work in this situation very well.

This says it all lol. Eos is very easy to heal up... normally the tank and one dps that are on me switch to Eos when I pop Attunement, and very often one person decides going after Eos is a good idea. All it takes is Sustain + one Lustrate to save Eos from near death. And while they're busy attacking Eos, the rest of my team is destroying the others.
