I never said all of the PS3 players are bad, just that a disproportionate amount of the players who play PS3 are. There are people who play PS3 who are exceptional. If you are one of them, that's fine. If you get upset because many people have noticed a trend in it maybe you're the person with the attitude problem we see if not the skill. PS3 players are on a console and while I own and use a launch ps3 and pretty much every other console, I'm also a console gamer. I also played FFXI sometimes on my Xbox. The problem is, a cheaper 6 year old system is easier for a kid to get than a gaming PC. Younger players tend to be less mature especially when they're used to console games where they are the most important players. It's a trend a good deal of people see. This is personal and FC experience but that's it.

Not trying to come off as a jerk or anything (if i did i'm sorry) i just really want to know why its hard to do so.
Because a lot of us are fans of FF and want this game to succeed and continue holding on and hoping shit improves.

This methodology persists in every facet of gaming (heck entertainment). There isnt much new under the sun. If you want brand new, never before seen mechanics every three months then you need to move to another planet. Here is something that might just blow your mind: In the entirety of music there are only 12 notes that get recycled and re-arranged.

I am curious, since im on the same old schtick bandwagon, how would you do the fights given the span of august 2013 to when patch 2.1 released? Would you just not have the content there at all? And as I said if we get anymore Titan/ifrit/garuda then i'll call fault, but as it stands it comes off to me as repetition with variation (because it isnt just the same fight).

For extreme mode, it seems to attempt to jar the player from his/her previously memorized routine. Any new titan fight would be too much. As it stands it is just repetition with variation.

But hey, i understand people wanting a 5 month old mmo to be able to stand toe-to-toe with 8 year old mmos.
You can call it whatever you'd like, recycling or repetition with variation. The point is we already had 2 primal fights each, then they release this update which gives us an extreme version of each one of these. So hey, beat it an extra time because you don't already hate these primals enough from your first initial struggles. They could have instead given us a two new primals and then next update given the extreme versions of the ones we got at launch.

Then we get CT, which should have been in the game at launch with lower ilevel gear, most of the population already has better gear on their main and their second jobs. Housing which 90% of the population can't afford and daily quests. The latest patch IMO was a step backwards. They need to knock it out of the park with 2.2 or I fear the masses will start moving to something else.

Tazo has it square. I bring up my points because I HAVE canceled. The thing is, there are parts of this game I like. And you can call this new but this isn't a "New" game. This is a rerelease of a rebuilt game that was lightly beta tested and pushed out to meet an arbitrary date. Stuff that was supposed to be out with 2.0 was not.

Bringing up FFXI. Before Zilart you had rank missions, all sorts of quests, many areas to explore and exp in. cap your level to 50 and look at everywhere that you can get to without going to Kazham or Promy then you're mostly at FFXI before Zilart. That game even in it's japanese release had more content. The thing is, this game was touted to have so much, to be so cutting edge in a lot of ways. I found it fun the first time I leveled up. But the thing is, there isn't any staying power. I can level up my alt jobs, or log on to do the coil turns that are out and get mythology stones but that's not enough to keep me playing. The game isn't fun which is why I am "Getting out." But due to the fact that I enjoyed the game at one point and I liked a number of the ideas I'm pointing out what I believe (and apparently some others do as well) to be problems that will hamstring this game. And i've been playing MMo's since i was a kid and my mother got "The Realm Online" an old Sierra thing. So don't go throwing around crap like that. it doesn't mean anything except that you should know that any other MMo that has been released had more. From EQ to AO to DAoC to Vanguard to Rift(which was a huge ripoff and since they copied a bunch of other games and then called it rift i dunno if that counts). This is a game that had a base and had been out and has been paid for twice by multiple people. During 1.0 there were issues and a fairly large segment at first defended it but left themselves. If not for FFXI's profits during that time Square probably woulda axed it. This isn't a "brand new" game with untested and untried developers who don't know anything about how fast MMo's can chew through content. Making most of the content easily doable just makes the community as a whole finish it faster.

And ya know what woulda jarred me outta my norms rather than a new titan fight? A new fight that didn't just add a few mechanics....

And league of legends doesn't require much power in a computer. It is also free. It's very easy access to anyone who wants to play. So actually you're lending my argument that cheaper solutions attract less savory players as a whole.

And as to repitition, I have to agree and disagree. Yes you can have mechanics that are recycled or similiar but at the same time you can make a fight feel completely different. Just walking in to Garuda or titan ex and saying "Oh hey. it's you again. Guess we're gonna do this until Extreme + comes out or something" doesn't feel like it's anything special. You take a look at games like WoW. It had at max level Scholomance, LBRS/UBRS(which was a 3 groupish raid area at the time) the other undead city, the live side of the city, and I think one more dungeon before even getting into raids. There were all sorts of zones, plenty of quests and even if you had fights that were similiarly handled they made them different enough that you didn't feel they were the same fight just with a few mechanics tacked that people had to learn. Now if you say "WoW Noob" or something, look at everquest. It had hundreds of named creatures, and 3 continents with plenty of zones two dragons and multiple planar zones which caused much hair to be ripped out when it first came out and only expanded. DAoC had about 10ish classes per realm(Not shared) that were fairly well balanced till people found some really good combos, 3 whole faction specific pve areas that were 1-50 with multiple areas for leveling in each level range in each zone, and three separate frontiers where PVE and PVP could be done(PVP was always on in that game). Rift had a fairly large amount of content but that game was a very ripoffy game so not really gonna give credit there. AO had craptons of stuff out before even notum wars although that game is fairly fuzzy in my memory. This game falls flat compared to all of them. If this game had been developed in a vacuum that's fine. But it wasn't. There are MMo's out there for all to see. A little research, a little borrowing improving or understanding what didn't work in others games would have been useful but it appears that they never wanted to d that.

To put it simply, this game has a very VERY large amount of competition on the market. They know this and decided to push the game out before it was ready and bank on the name making sales.

LOL that cesspool of PC gamers. If anything, PC-only games like LoL has proven that there are no boundaries that stupid/bad/immature/troll players cannot reach.

So really, if you want to boil it down, you can call fault on the whole of 2.0. because all SE did recycle 1.0. So you treat this as an old game with a new-but-lacking coat of paint, or a new game with shallow, re-hashed content. Either way you are probably better off leaving it all behind. I mean I am an FF fan, so to scratch that itch, i play the console titles and other FF-like SquareEnix titles like Bravely Default.

Point is, if you want this game to change, then it will need both time and money to do so. If you don't want to pay, then you need to post a little reminder for you to just ignore it all and save yourself the time and effort. I guess this is an elaborate "dont play". But man i dont know what would make you happy in the least.

There was most certainly more content in RoZ (NA Release FFXI) than there is in FFXIV 2.0.
Also, XI was SE's first MMO. You would think that after 12 years of experience they would be able to gauge what type of content is worth investing in and what type isn't.

    Chocobo racing - fail.
    Pankraton - fail.
Small man, instance restrictive Pvp- fail.
    Reskinning, recycling content - fail.
    Please, look forward to it.

Okay, yeah i can understand that in a sense. I personally haven't liked a single FF since.....10 (non MMO wise) but since you can't really do too much with those being single player games and all i guess you can't really count those right? lol.

But to the matter at hand, in terms of improvements i will agree on the lag issues (i personally don't have too many issues with it but others do) need to be fixed. Console wise...heh, it's actually pretty funny, i run into alot more PC players having lag issues then ps3 which i find ironic.

PvP has just recently been out, and i'm willing to let it slide and say "maybe they're experimenting with it" and will give them more time to add more to it, but it is lacking still, you'd think they'd add atleast 1 more mode like capture the flag or something to it, but...meh, time will tell
