I will weigh in on this as well. When it came time to select the lot size, if I could sum it up in a word it would be austerity. One of my officers and myself were leading up the housing project as well called it and we began accepting donations pretty much as soon as 2.1 was released. After all the large donations were in, we tracked how much it was growing each day and examined the rate and also who was donating. What we noticed was that there was only a small handful of people adding to it and that the large (250,000+) donations had concluded. It was at this time, we looked at how much we had and made the decision for me to use my FC master executive order and decide the size and allow the neighborhood to be a democratic decision. If we were to wait for a medium, we would loose out on a decent lot selection and possibly not be in Ward #1, either of which I was unwilling to accept. The other thing that payed a factor is player activity. We host 4 static Coil groups, 3 of which are 100% FC members with the other being 6/8 due to their time zone and one of the other 3 teams is half alts. The only time we see a spike in people being online is on raid nights and we are all in Coil. Other times, very few of us are hanging out or being idle and due to our FC being split across evening and morning play times, we did not need a large space to accommodate a large number of people. In short, we did not need a medium or large house and even some people really wanted one, I could not justify the time frame for purchase or the cost for what we would utilize the house for.
As far as the layout is concerned since this is a shared space, we decided to make it more of a lounge and also keep within the style of the Ul'dah style. Gallery
