To efficiently fill each zone, the small house size not only has to be a popular choice, it has to be around twice as popular as medium + large combined. (Per ward: 20 small houses, 10 others: 3 large + 7 medium.)

The current main drawback for the small house is a lack of space. If there was an occupancy limit, it would be 10 or fewer. (GIO's small house had seating for 9 or 10 plus a bed.) And if buffs or other benefits are tied to furnishings, the limited space also limits these. Another worry is that some comments in past Letters LIVE sounded like some content may be only for larger houses. SE needs to address these two issues if they want more people to consider the small house seriously as an FC house.

Yea SE is dumb for making small houses 2/3 of a ward and no "pros" to buy them. My FC pretty much rather not get a house if it's a small one. If you can buy more then 1 small house then that might change our minds

Can you imagine the 50+ member FC who were crazy and impatient enough to buy those small closets?

Well the JPN forums have a topic similar to this so it's not just us that have issues with the size. They also suggest adding a basement or second floor.

I think we can all agree that as a FC house. A S-sized house is not cutting it at all. Unless you're a 3-5 people FC.

Honestly there's only 2 ways to make S-sized houses more tempting for FC's.

Option 1 - S-Size house remains the same

Allow multiple purchases of plots and houses. Basically a FC could buy multiple S-Sized houses. And assign them to a certain number of people in the FC to maintain. This allows for S-sized houses to remain the same and be more tempting to buy.

    Option 2 - Altering the S-Size house

Like I mentioned in my first post. Either add another floor or expand the house. As a FC house it really is too small. It is perfect for a personal house though.

I doubt SE would add a second floor. Perhaps a basement. I just think that adding a second floor may mess up some of the views from other homes. I hope they give FCs an option for house upgrading later on. I love our medium House in Grid the option to add more floors would be a great feature.

Edit: I agree that side yard is a waste. But why are people buying small houses and then complaining? I can understand if you bought the first small house of all the servers. But there have been videos out of all the sizes a since a week after housing content was released. Was no research done prior to the purchase? I mean there are always choices, save up more and get a medium or buy small. I just want to understand this better. I am not trying to be rude or belligerent, I genuinely understated how too small a small house is. I want to grasp the thought process that went into choosing a small house.

We bought a small because of price, actually size of our FC, and the actually amount of people that would be in the home at any giving time. The interior was designed to comfortably seat a Full Party: http://imgur.com/a/27g7y

FYI I like the small lawn personally >.>

With some creative work you can even comfortably seat a crystal tower alliance in a small. All though that's more like a fratparty than a small gathering.

There's a lot of elevated small plots that look like they should have a cellar so I support the extra floor idea.

    Makes sense

I think since the small lawns are practically the same size as a medium lawn that it should have more placement spaces.

I will weigh in on this as well. When it came time to select the lot size, if I could sum it up in a word it would be austerity. One of my officers and myself were leading up the housing project as well called it and we began accepting donations pretty much as soon as 2.1 was released. After all the large donations were in, we tracked how much it was growing each day and examined the rate and also who was donating. What we noticed was that there was only a small handful of people adding to it and that the large (250,000+) donations had concluded. It was at this time, we looked at how much we had and made the decision for me to use my FC master executive order and decide the size and allow the neighborhood to be a democratic decision. If we were to wait for a medium, we would loose out on a decent lot selection and possibly not be in Ward #1, either of which I was unwilling to accept. The other thing that payed a factor is player activity. We host 4 static Coil groups, 3 of which are 100% FC members with the other being 6/8 due to their time zone and one of the other 3 teams is half alts. The only time we see a spike in people being online is on raid nights and we are all in Coil. Other times, very few of us are hanging out or being idle and due to our FC being split across evening and morning play times, we did not need a large space to accommodate a large number of people. In short, we did not need a medium or large house and even some people really wanted one, I could not justify the time frame for purchase or the cost for what we would utilize the house for.

As far as the layout is concerned since this is a shared space, we decided to make it more of a lounge and also keep within the style of the Ul'dah style. Gallery
