    To be fair, the WoW one says they don't recommend using them because you could get linked to something you didn't do (such as a gold seller using that same VPN, which then gets your account hammered). They don't outright say not to use them though. Also if you read the forums you can find a ton of threads about VPNs with discussions on who is using them, which to use, etc and they allow it.

    You also have tons who got banned for it, too.

    Here is the specific part of Blizz's tos that directly refers to tunneling:

    http://eu.blizzard.com/en-gb/company...ermsofuse.html

    2.8 host, provide or develop matchmaking services for any Game or the Service, or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Blizzard in any way, for any purpose, including without limitation unauthorized play over the internet, network play, or as part of content aggregation networks;
    2.9 facilitate, create or maintain any unauthorized connection to any Game or the Service, including without limitation (a) any connection to any unauthorized server that emulates, or attempts to emulate, the Service or any Game; and (b) any connection using programs or tools not expressly approved by Blizzard; or
    2.10 disrupt or assist in the disruption of (i) any computer used to support the Service or any Game environment (each a "Server"); or (ii) any other player's Game experience.

    Regardless, this thread is not about VPNs, it's about parsers. The point is that these two things are completely different. We should not just assume parsers won't get you into trouble just because SE states VPNs won't.

    Nobody ever in the history of any video game ever has ever been banned for using a VPN ever. Blizzard doesn't care if you use VPNs. What they do care about is that gold sellers also use them and that can lead to your account being associated with them, leading to a ban. But that's because the person in question was a gold seller, not because they used a VPN.

    whatisthisIdon'teven.

    People get banned because VPNs do automatic flags to their accounts for goldselling. It's an automated system Blizz has. If you think everyone who uses a vpn is a goldseller I don't know what to tell you. Many who use a vpn that have nothing to do with rmt get flagged in that game.

    And AGAIN, it doesn't matter. This has nothing to do with this thread. The point is, people should not just assume because SE ok'd VPNs that means they ok'd parsers.

    Use at your own risk as Blowfin said, don't expect them to be the same. That's the only relevance VPNs have to this thread, so you should stop trying to derail the real issue here.

    Right, so nobody has ever made for be banned for use of VPN. They were made for be flagged as goldseller and banned for this, not for make use of VPN.
