Had a whm fill in for one of our guys during a coil raid a couple weeks ago who said he was experienced to t4. Turns out experienced meant enraged method and we wiped over and over trying to do it the normal way because he didn't know what to do and didn't have the practice to do it despite the fact that he's made it to t4. Casual gamers can argue all they want about how enrage method is a legit method, but when one person holds up the entire raid because they're so used to enraged method that they haven't bothered to try to learn the intended method, or any other method in that matter, that's a severe oversight. Where my group can usually 1 shot the first four turns, we were stuck on t2 for around an hour before we had to quit because we didn't have time to keep trying to teach this guy. He's gone back to using the enraged method and as far as I know still hasn't bothered to try the intended methods since, and when I think about how hard my group had to try in order to down t2 back when coil first came out I can't help but think about how gimped these players are who are using enraged.

You do realize that a whm who never entered turn 2 could also say "ya I know it!" and then be a complete n00b, too, right?

Alternatively, the whm could be used to going down one path getting rid of certain mechanics, and your static could have done a completely different path making it so the whm didn't know how to handle things either.

I mean you do know you can remove the rot mechanic normally, right? If a group does this, they may not be used to passing it no matter how many times they've done turn 2.

Why not just do enrage mode? it sounds like 7 people held up the entire raid because they wanted to do it the more difficult way.
