Wow, so many people are completely missing the point.
In what way does Teamspeak or a VPN software interact with your game? Parsers actively go into the game memory to pull out information that is normally unavailable (at least in real-time). I am pretty sure VPN, skype, teamspeak etc. does nothing of the sort. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Kind of, but not really. On the technical side, FFXIVAPP doesn't alter the game in anyway, shape, or form. All it does is read the logs, compile the information available, tally and format it. It doesn't interface/change/automate actual game files (neither does a proxy or tunnel for that matter, it's just changing the route path from A to B). Now, if FFXIVAPP gave me the ability to delete Darter .dats, then yes, that's against TOS (modifications to the game files).

The reason why it would more than likely be shut down is due to players harassing others and creating an environment people don't want to be in and will unsub/not subscribe. Square will protect it's majority playerbase before they lift a finger for the "super hardcore elite parsing so you feel bad" playerbase. We have enough negativity, hatred, and segregation already. We don't need more help from a tool that breaks down who's better than who.

Griefing is under GM jurisdiction, and GM called it. Using an un-sanctioned program to grief people is a no-no.

You shouldn't be using parsers, but it's a trival thing, for personal use, but if you use it not only to affect gameplay and then taking it a step further and for malicious intent.

Then stop making excuses and eat the fault.

actually you should check out the tos section about vpn's as well. there is a reason wow started using leatrix instead of vpn services. the reason was that by altering the hops taken from your isp to the companies server gives an unfair advantage while using vpn services. vpn's are classified as a violation in wow and many other mmo's. items that streamline your own computer for usage in gaming and other general web based applications like leatrix does isn't a violation.

easy thing to remember is anything outside of the game you use as a way to play the game outside of the way it comes packaged is technically against the tos. this goes from parsers, vps's, windowers, bots, hacks, exploits, and 3rd party voice chats. best bet is to not say anything in game to admit you are doing anything of the sort or you do face a possible ban.

Your assuming that is the issue anyway.
1. They may not know its a parser. FF14-APP is a shady name
2. May be a translation issue in communications from the company to GMs/Community?
3. They be angry at the other features, Event Timers/Alarms, The HP # and % monitor. ect (ff14 app is MORE then a parser and these features may be the issue)
4. May be because it parses from memory, and parsing from the combat log is 100% ok (i mean why else have a customize able exporting combat log? It is clearly intended for parsing)

Hence the issue is what is the official response, and what exactly is the problem for future reference.

Maybe you should read the ToS again, or actually you should have before you accepted them:

WoW does not like VPNs at all. But then again, for the most part, people in WoW don't have to deal with the latency issues killing them like in this game.

I think the official response no matter what is and will always underscore. Don't use things that affect gameplay, and definitely don't use things that affect gameplay and adversely affect other players.
