Final Fantasy XIV Auto-Attack Video

You guys seem to forget how mmo are or something. ffxiv will ALWAYS get patched. That is the nature of mmo. They are just fixing more then adding. Once they fix the major stuff then they will add. If your too much a cynic maybe go play a different game for a while. Only thing actually dragging the game down are the negetive posting from the cynics and not really the game. I have fun on ffxiv. I make my own fun. Pick somethong you like doing. And just do it. If there is nothing you enjoy, there never will be.

The letter said what it needed to say. He doesn't HAVE TO write them. He wants to do so since he is a first time being the head of a game and more importently an mmo which is a different beast.

As for AA, I like it. Its just fast enough to be enjoyable and not as slow as it looks. They just took time to show off a few skills. One thing I noticed that no one seems to even mention was the Action bar. Did anyone notice it got changed? And i like it.

Correction, he does have to write the letters because everyone was so unhappy with the lack of communication while the game was sucking, that they were going to quit. Most people did. If he doesn't continue writing good letters and keeping people informed about how long stuff is going to take, more people will quit.

Also, there is nothing wrong with people complaining. Why can't they complain? Is it your opinion that people should either shut up or leave? Is that it? How unfortunate!

I'm sorry, you're just wrong. The first link had 378 words, the second link had 402 words, and the third link had 522. The new letter has a total of 512. Like I said it is COMPARABLE to what we have gotten in the past, especially in the middle of a new phase of work. Only one of the letters I posted had MORE words than the new letter. So I say again, with gusto, you're wrong. This is not the shortest letter we have ever gotten.

You may want to consider the content of the letters. This had a lot of filler. Try reading them instead of just copy/paste into MS Word and doing a Word Count lol

Though that was really besides the point... The primary concern here is that I was expecting a "hey, here's some details on what 1.18 has to offer" but it was really just auto-attack details (and few), which is fine, just not what I was expecting considering present circumstances.

Glad to finally see some "Final Fantasy™" animations.

One thing i hope they do: grey out any action that requires a trigger (Phalanx on Block, Jarring strike on Evade), until trigger (and it's window) is activated and up.

The pug had throw, heay strike? and pummel on the bar. Curious to how those i guess "Sub" moves will work?
will you turn on different "auto-attack" or will they be just another move you use?

I also noticed the action bar, but since I haven't played in quite a bit I wasn't sure if it had changed at all other than a cooldown graphic, which seems fine to me. It looks like icons are a bit easier to make out, as well as a few other differences I can't quite put my finger on.

Not impressed. Auto-attack was a given and they didn't really talk about anything else. Also, you people actually play the game and didn't know PUG had a stun? Tsk tsk.

I rather wait few more weeks for the fixes/contents to be perfect, than rushing it and fix it again after.

They did suggest they were going to do this eventually, I would rather see the skill flash when it becomes active.

Yes, auto-attack is Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy is auto-attack. Nevermind the lack of everything RPG/Chocobos/Cid.

I'm not here to talk about the content of the letters, though how a shorter letter can have more content is beyond me, as is what you consider "filler". All I wanted to do is point out that your statement about how short the letter was, was inaccurate. Your expectations are your opinions and you can't make facts up based on them.
