Roegadyn with tails

One of the main things that bugs me about FFXIV is that every single race's animations look the same... I'm not talking about emotes; I'm talking about battle animations. Every caster class holds their weapon the same way. Every tank holds and swings their sword in the same way. In FFXI, every single race had their own unique battle stance for each weapon/spell. They were similar in some ways... yes, but not identical. I loved the sense of racial identity everyone had, even in battle. Now all we have are unique emotes and sitting poses.

It's a bit easier (even though hand animation is a lot more work than just mo-cap) to match timing when animating by hand as opposed to xivs battle animations being recorded from real people. It's a bit trickier but not at all impossible to add race uniqueness to animations. I kinda doubt they'll ever do it as there's probably a million things that are more important to do first.

I would like to see this as an option. If you could pick between having the tail and not having the tail, they would probably have to come up with some historical reason, but it would still be cool.

I think the reason they removed the tail is because they want to differentiate Galka and Roegadyn. They have the biggest changes overall anyway.

This might be stretching it; but for those that remember some of the story in FFXI (particularly Bastok missions I think), Galka do not reproduce the same way everyone else does. They go to a mountain or something way out in Altepa to be reincarnated or something of the like. Since they technically added gender/sex into the mix, they likely wanted the differentiation to be clear in a way.

I mean all the races had some changes going to XIV: Humes got the burlier highlander folk, Elvaan got some aesthetic changes, Tarus have more realistic proportions (...I guess), Mithra have an abundance of males now (as of 2.0 at least, dunno if there were any in 1.XX). But Galka got the best of it! They gained an entire sex in 1.XX in exchange for their tails! Good trade in my opinion.

lol sadly yes i hate Ro females they are an eye sore if they just disappeared i wouldnt bat an eye. and it the noses ugh its like Ken shuryuken'd you all and gave you michael jackson noses. so gross. 100% seriously hate them.

When I heard that there were going to be female Roegadyn in XIV I was excited. One of the first things I did during the beta was make a female Roegadyn. And during the 1.0 beta I had a male Roegadyn.
