One of the main things that bugs me about FFXIV is that every single race's animations look the same... I'm not talking about emotes; I'm talking about battle animations. Every caster class holds their weapon the same way. Every tank holds and swings their sword in the same way. In FFXI, every single race had their own unique battle stance for each weapon/spell. They were similar in some ways... yes, but not identical. I loved the sense of racial identity everyone had, even in battle. Now all we have are unique emotes and sitting poses.

It's a bit easier (even though hand animation is a lot more work than just mo-cap) to match timing when animating by hand as opposed to xivs battle animations being recorded from real people. It's a bit trickier but not at all impossible to add race uniqueness to animations. I kinda doubt they'll ever do it as there's probably a million things that are more important to do first.

Im kinda glad they are gone, roegadyns are much much more attractive now. Now we just need to get rid of lalafells and replace them tarutarus. Tarutarus were much better than the horrendous looking loli-things we have now.

    No.

But I could see merit in removing all the man-cats again...

I think you might have a bit of a bias here when it comes to lalafells given that you play one...

I love those tails! Roes are way too humanlike in my opinion. Their skin looks sort of odd - and I think a tail would add some balance to their overall figure..

.... No. Well, I find them equally adorable. And I love torturing people - making them wonder about my lala's gender.

I played FFXI since near launch as a Tarutaru, and while I wouldn't be entirely against this... In all honesty, I don't miss the dog noses.

Ugh no tails please! I was happy they removed them. I like the elegant look female Roe's have, I think adding a tail would ruin the effect. Then I'd have to be not-a-Girlka and I'd be sad! I always felt the tails in XI made the Galka feel more lizard-like, though they weren't.

Roe's don't need tails, and there is no good rational to even add them, so why waste time whining about it? As it is, I prefer the non-gorilla shape of the Roe's, they look less comical.

The only problem I have with male miqo'te is the way their hands appear while at rest. They look like claws that are CONSTANTLY tensed. Female miqo'te, on the other hand, have incredibly human-like hands. I *LOVE* the way male miqo'te sit, though. It's so cool and as a female miqo'te... I'm a little jealous.
