I hate rewatching cut scenes in the inn room. On my first trip through Praetorium the group insisted I skip the CSs because they wanted to speed run, and I was fine with it at the time, just wanting the win to get through the story. But when I rewatched the CSs later in my inn room, it was just a disjointed mess. Without the frame work of the game play it all meant nothing to me. I was angry that I'd let them dictate the terms of my experiencing the story.

So I understand both perspectives. Those who have done it a thousand times don't want to wait. While those who are doing it for the first time are expected to experience it as though they already done it a thousand times.

Personally, because of my own experience, if someone's doing it for their first time I'll give them the opportunity to watch the CSs, and I'll speak out against someone who's telling them to skip. I've never been kicked for it, but if I am, so be it. I'll just report them. If the player volunteers that they're willing to skip the CSs, that's different, but I don't want anyone to feel forced to. It's only a difference of mere minutes. It can take longer to get a replacement after kicking someone than it does to watch CSs.

I disagree. If you intentionally queue up for a "story" dungeon or story roulette, you don't go become one of those assholes who vote people out for watching cut scenes. And at least have the decency to wait for them to start a boss fight.

At OP, if you enter any story instance, I would recommend announcing you watch cut scenes right at the beginning so that folks have a heads up. If they're gonna be douches and vote you out then, then at least it's before stuff gets started.

Just get a screen cap before you announce it, so you know who to report if they do vote kick you.

Idk if you have played enough to realize that people tend to afk in CM or Prae. Going AFK in a CS is a common way to do so. So if OP never mentioned that he is actually taking the time to watch these CSs and not AFK. Most people would say No Problem, As he is probably lower iLvl and wouldn't really make that big of an impact on the Win.

Why would you kick people that don't Lot items?? That is Silly.

A SE developed DPS meter would be nice. Tired of going into a Duty Finder and Party Finder runs only to find we can't win due to improper mechanics and DPS not honing their arts.

Best instance of this would be a BLM using DEX Jewelry and saying that it doesn't affect his DPS. Or the DRG who didn't use Heavy Thrust from Flank....

Some of them are not shown as story, but fall under the dungeon category (the two Castrum story dungeons for example). As far as I have seen, they are all viewable there. They just might not be listed in the way you would expect them to be.

I do think it is a dick move to outright kick someone for it unless they have been repeatedly asked not to. However, please remember that most people are doing this for their daily roulette and want to move on to something else quickly. It also eats from the dungeon completion time (with the exception of the very first introductory cutscene to the dungeon).

If it really gets to you, try to make a static dungeon group of people who want to watch them as well (or at least don't mind the wait).

this won't do anything, its almost unprovable of wrongdoing unless they "video archived" everything that happens in this game, which is impossible.

I am absolutely confused with what you're trying to point out? Hmmm, I care about no one but myself, and this is suppose to be wrong? If the design is flawed, why not try to work around it instead of wasting your own time on stupid things when you could do better things? And I guess you took it so literally when I say I find it "funny?" (strange, weird, awkward)? Lol, please come back and enlighten me, I really don't know what you are trying to point out.

It would also be bad for business to ban 7/8 people in the dungeon

Being denied cutscenes is no worse than holding someone up from proceeding through the dungeon, both parties are disrupting the other's experience. If you want things done a certain way, build your own party and agree to common terms. If you do not do this, do not expect to be catered to. Please take personal responsibility.

There's only one first time though. Once you hit the grind a slower dungeon is only a minor inconvenience, a slightly slower path towards the next whatever piece of armor you have. I find that vastly different in comparison to potential ruination of one's immersion and experience with the story.
