If you look at the different colors shown, you'll see that the colors change differently. The two on the right have a striped waist ribbon, and the under-dress bit changes color in a way that is impossible with the current, single-part dye system we have. I suppose it's possible Squee will alter their dye system to allow us to dye different parts of gear (e.g. primary and secondary colors), but I highly doubt it.
Yeah would hate to ruin the immersion of a game where you can fend off someone with a gun with just about any handheld weapon. I can see how bulletproof super hero costumes and/or bikini's would ruin the experience for you.Options are options, but you can have too much choice. Options are limited for a reason, and in this case it's for immersive purposes. I'd have to assume the reason plate armour isn't bikinified in XIV is because they want it to look practical. I'm all for creativity and I'm not against people dressing however they want in Eorzea, I encourage it; but not when it comes at the cost of immersion.
For example; I would be totally against people running around Mor Dhona in Batman costumes or driving around in a Ferrari instead of riding around on a Chocobo. There are some seasonal outfits and vanity items that are a little on the whacky side, but non that you can effectively wear in combat.. other than that damn Coliseum set.
I'll pretend that was English you were just speaking and reply with some mild sarcasm; yes, I would have to admit, someone fending off someone with a gun, when they don't even have a gun of their own.. well, that's unheard of.. the walls of reality have indeed just collapsed..
Yeah musketeer isn't on the way right? No of course not didn't think I would need to add that in but maybe I overestimated you. Anyways people have already done things like titan HM in bikini's right, seriously this is a fantasy game skimpy armor ruining your immersion is the worst argument I've heard yet.I'll pretend that was English you were just speaking and reply with some mild sarcasm; yes, I would have to admit, someone fending off someone with a gun, when they don't even have a gun of their own.. well, that's unheard of.. the walls of reality have indeed just collapsed..
I see so what people should be able or allowed to displayed on their own avatars should be restricted by prudes who think it's perfectly acceptable to cast fireballs from your hands and raise people from the dead but not have magical clothing with armor equal to heavy plate mail. All on the basis that it ruins YOUR immersion. That about right?
My opinion is just as valid as yours and anyone elses for that matter and if they're going with the consensus that plate armour provides more protections than cloth; they should run with that and not break their own laws.I see so what people should be able or allowed to displayed on their own avatars should be restricted by prudes who think it's perfectly acceptable to cast fireballs from your hands and raise people from the dead but not have magical clothing with armor equal to heavy plate mail. Perhaps you're right though; this is a Fantasy world where anything is possible, so why not have the next Binding Coil encounter be Barack Obama with the head of a dolphin? ..this is a Fantasy world after all.. right? Derp.
Would make about as much sense as most of the encounters in the game, anyways think they have the vanity system in the works, wonder if you'll be seeing people tanking in swimwear soon enough regardless. Not sure though haven't read up on it.My opinion is just as valid as yours and anyone elses for that matter and if they're going with the consensus that plate armour provides more protections than cloth; they should run with that and not break their own laws.

Is it just me, or can we cut the tension in here with a knife.
All in good fun and humour.
