Usually I'm rather polite and calm on the forums, so excuse the following outburst.

A fellow got the Rank 4 achievement next to me in Uldah the other day, so I ventured to ask him how much the mount costs. He replied that the mount costs 120k and the minion 25k. I replied back ".............are you serious?". To which he replied "Yeah".

SE.........Are you ABSOLOUTELY &^%$ING INSANE?!?!?!?!?!

First, the exorbitant housing costs and now this horse%^&$? How much farther do you think you can stretch the communitys patience and tolerance before everyone just gets tired of your crap and packs up ship and leaves?

And this was news to you? Its pretty much been common knowledge since the release of 2.1 that mounts will be 120k. Its SEs way of removing Gil from those who have way too much since 1.0. As is housing. Be glad that its all optional vanity stuff instead of something you are forced to do.

What little market is left in an economy paralyzed by people saving money for the housing system I have to be careful not to make too much money on for fear of having my accoun locked and swept by the RMT witch hunt ravaging the player base....how the seven hells am I to be expected to make the sort of disposable income to throw at a 120k steed....complete nonsense. That's several orders of magnitude more cost than you would ever have made doing the dailies to reach the rank to buy it in the first place. To think I've been spamming these dailies religiously day after day in excitement to reach the top only to be met with this crap.

@Marveth. Housing was meant to be the major selling point of 2.1. It was content designed for everyone to get excited about and participate in. It's a commonly held opinion that the costs involved are horrendously inflated. The fact that there are two houses in existance across all servers right now is evidence enough that their estimates were WAY off mark. On top of that, the outrage pouring into their feedback centers over it is huge. If they keep this mentality up, it isn't going to end well for them. They've admitted that if 14 falls, it's going to drag the entire company down with it and from what I can see, they're only pushing people away with poor design and management choices. Making things enormously overcosted and then punishing players who are smart enough to make the money needed to buy them. Nonsense.

Honestly, 120k isn't that much. I'm not super rich or anything (truuuuust me), and I do not think 120k is that difficult to earn ... especially considering how long it takes to get Rank 4 reputation in the first place. Housing, on the other hand... yes, I think it is far too overpriced, but the reason they did that is clear. A) They wanted to bleed Legacy players of all their 'excess' money. However, few Legacy players are throwing away their money, instead opting to wait until prices drop. B) They're not sure how much houses their servers can handle, so making them really overpriced will naturally regulate how many houses are added at once.

It's a price to say "hey look, I have it. Cost a lot but it's ok because I have it and it makes me special"
