Umm... while I agree 100% the myth cap is annoying for having multiple jobs... in what way is it "backwards" to consider it takes more time to gear three jobs than it does to gear one job?
The myth cap isn't bad at least now at 450 per week you can get something useful each week. The coil lockout freaking blows. I'd be happy at one item per week like CT. But the lockout has caused some major divisions amongst my group of friends.
I'm not disagreeing with you, capping is easy now. The fact still remains, as the game is out for a longer time, more people are hitting 50. They will have to gear up to catch up to the other 50s. The cap was established for Legacy players to not completely out gear new players. That really isn't the case anymore. The amount of new players, or people under 50 on just one job is a lot lower. They either are super casual or stopped playing. Either way the minority is holding back the majority. The time I work on myth is about an hour a day. One run through coil, one or two CT depending on luck and our FC does daily maps or double maps every other day. Myth was capped on Thursday with very little effort. They've eased up quite a bit and you can obtain a Zenith relic in two weeks if one desired which shaved off 33% of the wait. The rest of our time we work on other jobs or saving money for housing. It's easy enough to progress without being "hardcore"
Perhaps they should discuss which loot assignment will make the group stronger as a whole, not just themselves. The groups that were the first to clear Turn 5 were not arguing over loot drops I can pretty much assure you of that. We take the same approach for our static, the needs of the many over the needs (wants) of the few.
Just your friendly neighborhood elezen
since when is the only reason to do something in an MMO for progression.. you play to have fun and if you cant have fun without obtaining something you need to look at yourself and ask whats wrong...
Yes it is a pain to gear multiple jobs, but I have ilv90 WAR and ilv80 BRD and MNK and both the brd and mnk can be pushed to 85 easily with some runs of the Em for accessories, but i'm in no rush. If its that much of a bad thing for you, then this sadly may not be a game for you, or modern MMO may just not be the type of game you should play, its a sad but simple conclusion.
and PS. tanks not avoiding WW, its not avoidable as far as i know, its just a skill you need to know when is coming and use a cooldown for (and healers should have a shield on you for it also). IB+Veng+SS/galvanized for it makes it look like to a person watching the health that they avoided it, but its just dmg reduction cutting out half the dmg or more with a shield up. its just trying to tell your tanks to avoid it is just going to get you wiped as they are not doing their job correct at that part of the fight and double WW can and will 1shot a tank not shielded or no with a cooldown up. As someone else suggested, maybe you should level a tank and show us all how its done since you clearly have the time and know better then the rest of us...
I don't like the caps and lockouts. A new or returning player would be unable to catch up because they are only afforded gradual progress each week. I don't like being unable to join certain parties in party finder due to gear level requirements because I cannot improve my gear level any further this week.
I'm tired of waiting.
I know that SE put the cap to keep it from the ends of the spectrum from getting too far apart, but seriously, I have so much free time right now.
I don't think that NEET players should be held back just because of someone that has to work all week and isn't even going to hit the cap anyways.
I actually feel that more people will quit from the frustration of waiting for gear due to cap, than just getting everything they need and moving on to the next job.
Also, Coil should be allowed to be done once a week per job. Tired of going through coil and not getting anything. I mean, you can go through CT as many times a week until you get what you want, why not Coil?
ok NEET -/- hardcore. i hate when people confuse these two categories of players. if not calling you personally a NEET, but anyone who thinks playing 12 hours per day =hardcore is wrong.
also i agree, coil and CT for that matter, should be one drop per job.
I gotta agree with the OP. As it stands now, I only have to complete a few things in order to get what I want out of the game. Those things are Coil, CT drop, Dailies, EM primal weekly and myth cap. Unfortunately, besides CT, those don't take much time at all. When I see a FC member ask for help in Coil because they need a filler, I can't join and help them out due to lockout. When a primal group needs a tank, I can't join due to the constant lockouts of gear.
They offer you the ability to change classes on one character, but the gearing restraints is what is killing the game for me. Please, don't get me started on the non-token system in Coil because I love getting the bard bracer over and over again(We have yet to see any tank drops, thanks SE.). I'll be moving on from this game when a new MMO comes out though for sure, right now this game is giving me the message that it doesn't want me to play or advance my character. So if I could ask SE for something, then I would ask them to let me advance my character without all this red tape. I feel like I can't breathe every time I log in with all these limitations.
Ok. If you want to debate what a hardcore player is, then you are not one and obviously missed the point of topic. Either remove the lockout or raise the cap. I can live with not getting anything from Coil if I could get more than one piece of Myth gear every 1-2 weeks.
