Before thay make a really cool gilgamesh fight they need to add depth to the combat. Mainly HORIZONTAL PROGRESSION GEAR.

The oriental mix is my favorite COTBB theme.
Rather than just rip the old school version, I hope Soken comes up with his own version, or a collab with Uematsu.
It would actually be interesting to have 3 versions of Clash On The Big Bridge play with each version playing per round.
They can set it up to
Round 1 = Original Clash On The Big Bridge
Round 2 = Oriental mix Clash On The Big Bridge
Round 3 = New FF14 Version of Clash on The Big Bridge
setting this way can help show how intense the fight becomes per round if they perform the fight setting and FF14 version of the theme correctly. After all we are going to Clash with Gilgamesh On The Big Bridge.
Location is already hinted in FF14ARR from a certain quest released in 2.1.

Love it or hate it, FFXI being "forced" large groups for big encounters even in 'instances' is pretty much what MMOs (and FF) were always about. I'm happy Gilgamesh will be here, but sadden that the design direction may make this encounter...what's the word....leave more to be desired? Despite all his arms, I wonder if he'll even have multiple attack rounds, like say Charybdis from XI that can attack 1-8 times in quick succession to the point it looks like he never stops attacking you.
(Basically actually trying to kill you rather than 1 random cheap mechanic.)
i kind hope a solo battle in the quest unlocking a bigger fight via the mesnestrel at 8 like a primordial. giglamesh deserve him own Fight.

Being a pansy that needs 7 other people to fight a character that has been introduced as a duelist that challenges people to a 1 on 1 fight to take their weapons, or being "the one" that breaks the duelist's winning streak and puts an end to his weapon-stealing ways while also proving to be the duelist's equal in skill. Hmmmm.......
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
