If you have competent players, middle is good. If you don't trust your alliance, then north, south, east, west ,etc

The skeletons spawn in the middle; if you tank the boss AWAY from middle then even with a fail group that kills skeletons before tanks can move them you still have a chance of killing them before they reach boss to AOE. THAT is why tanking the dragon away from the middle is actually a better strategy, it's better for dealing with fail DPS.
It also has the added benefit of giving you twice as much time to kill the skeletons if they are successfully moved to the ends of the platforms as they have to cross the entire arena rather than just half of it. Considering the quality of players I see in the DF sometimes you may want that extra time...
I prefer the middle. The north gets melee DD stood in poison continuously and it makes it harder for us to be of much use.
I didnt' even know it HAD a cone AoE so clearly it's either weak as hell or not the issue some make it out to be.

Past experience with many CT runs (still don't have the damn tank chest) has taught me that it doesn't matter where the dragon is tanked: if the rest of the alliance is a pack of morons, you will wipe on multiple occasions.
That said, my cleanest kills have been with the dragon in the middle. My messiest wipe has as well, but again, pack of morons. (Seriously, five dragons on the same spoke?)
Actually the cone, strong or weak, doesn't matter. It causes a fear effect, making you run around like a headless chicken. Also, if tanked properly, like I've done, the Melee get to stand on one of the platforms, I just turn him slightly so they can access his side as well.
In the middle? That's the worst one.
He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo
Sure you can do it that way if you want to kill us all.
Every player worth their salt knows to kill the skeletons on the center platform right under the dragon. Also, standing in the poison buffs your ranged damage.
It's how I do it every time, and I've done a lot of CT!
As a healer I hate that boss. Its very easy to heal, but I hate chasing after players due to "target is not in range."
They always seem to like the skeletons on the opposite side of the map of our tank =/
1 tank + 2 melee can down a skeleton in under 5 seconds once it's in position, just stick with a tank.
There are two main reasons for tanking the dragon on the edge:
1 - His breath attack, point it at a wall. Fear makes you run around like a moron through the poison, worse than useless.
2 - The adds spawn in the middle. It's easier to grab them and avoid #1 when the dragon is not in the middle.
Things I've seen mess up the fight:
-The OT (not sure why he thought we had an OT this fight) trying to keep up hate in case the MT died, pulling hate and sending dragon breath at the healers
-Dps trying to burn down the first two stages of the dragon or skeles asap
-Off tanks stacking skeles
