The most interesting strategy I've seen was to keep the dragon in the middle and pile all the skeletons on the same platform far from the center. First time was a wipe but second one, when they all rose, DPS wailed them down so fast it was cool (skele's didn't get halfway to the dragon).

Other than that, every run I've done (only about 8) has been the dragon in the center strategy.

Only maybe three times out of dozens of runs per week have I seen the dragon tanked in the center.
I wonder why there's such a difference between what some people are seeing here.

For the sake of success though, it doesn't matter where the dragon goes as long as OTs and DPS don't screw things up. More often than not, it's the DPS that I see messing things up. They either destroy skels where they stand without waiting for OTs to finish positioning them, or they kill the dragon before the last set of skels are dead.

The short of it is that if a skeleton reaches the dragon when it's dead, then the alliance is hit by an AoE.
If a skeleton died before the dragon died, then it'll be slow once it revives, giving you ample time to kill it again.
But if two skeletons are ever near each other while they're trying to reach the dead dragon, then they'll get a purple tether between them and run super fast, pretty much guaranteeing the alliance will be hit by two AoEs.

For Behemoth, I was told that if tanks aren't there to click on the towers when they need to, then the alliance gets hit by lightning AoEs. And then if any bombs manage to self-destruct and destroy a tower, then the lightning AoEs are even bigger.

I want to see that. But I can't imagine the average alliance listening long enough to coordinate something like that.
