It's a group effort after all.
My question to that is how do people get experienced with a fight to try to win if Party Finder wants Experienced Only and you claim Duty Finder is for people that want to beat content in one run? Watching or reading about something isn't the same as doing it and experiencing the content first hand. Where do these people get to learn? Training dummies?

First of all, what classifies as a waste of time is subjective to each and every person. Video games are not meant to "waste time," they are meant as a form of entertainment and just because you repeat your self over and over does not make it true. (In my opinion obviously)

Fighting against each other is of no use. This situation is not the fault of any of you, and everyone, no matter of veteran or newbie, must be able to enjoy the game in a way he or she likes.

Better would be asking the question why such a situation arises. Why are people, who are not ready yet and have no clue about how to play their role in a party accordingly, thrown into such battles like Titan HM? Because of superior game design? Surely not. Don't ask newbies to go away, don't ask veterans to stay - better ask Yoshi-P what he was (or is) thinking and why his game has such problems.

I learn quicker by fighting the bosses then by looking at a video to be honest. On Titan HM now and onyl tricky part is the rotation with his abilities. But a few more tries I got that down.

People learn much quicker when they play active then watch a movie passive

There seems to be a distinct lack of logic in the "go watch a video" crowd. First of all, where do you think those videos came from? Before they were made, groups of players had to face the bosses blind and figure it out for themselves. Imagine that! they didn't have videos and guides! *Le gasp*

Second, do not presume to have the authority to tell me how to play the game. You're just further showcasing your ignorance by demanding everyone play YOUR way. Is it selfish that people wont watch videos to learn a fight? Yes. But it is also selfish that you demand people go and watch them. You're being selfish by demanding people abandon their gameplay and adopt yours. Personally, I learn better through experiencing the game, not watching everyone else play it. If you want to watch other people have fun, go watch TV.
Sometimes I have to wonder if the video crowd intentionally uses the DF so that they have a reason to come cry on the forums. "Waaah! These people wont play the game the way I want them to! Listen to me cry on the forums about how bad they are!"

And third, the last time I checked, I was playing Final Fantasy 14, not Simon Says.

Nobody is disputing that, but it's also true that being prepared will significantly improve your chances of success.

Those videos came from hardcore groups with high level skill players who where first to beat the content. They had to use trial and error but now we don't, we know the strat so why not at least read/watch it before hand?

It's not selfish to ask someone to put in 15 minutes of effort to significantly improve the chances for the full group of 8 people, where on earth do you get that idea? Asking people to be prepared before they do content is common sense, not self entitlement.

Is this meant to be funny? because it doesn't really make much sense. If you're refering to the strategy then you'll be winning with the same strat anyway regardless of if you watched the video or not.

Seriously, watching a video before you go into Duty Finder isn't really about winning or losing, a party that has all done the fight before will fail if it doesn't gel well. It's about being prepared before you do group content and showing respect to your fellow players by at least putting some effort in. What is selfish is going into Duty Finder knowing you're unprepared for a fight, refusing to prepare for said fight and then thinking it's perfectly fine that everyone fails because you didn't know what to expect and keep dying. You might watch the video before hand and keep dying anyway but at least you tried.

All I expect is for people to do a little research on the fight or dungeon so they're not caught unprepared by a skill puzzle, one hit kill attack, or swarms of smaller overwhelming that could be prevented. I'm not asking for experience, I'm just hoping people look to have at least general knowledge about what they're going to engage in.

Most of the guys that don't bother to do the quick research rely on others to explain it to them anyways during the fight. I hate when someone says "You didn't tell me about that" like it's somehow others fault they didn't explain the fight to them.

but it's not the fault of the players the game hits you with 1-hit cheap kills out of nowhere without at least explaining what killed u , the fact you guys go to 3rd party sites to get information is just indicating lack of ingame explanation and tutorial , dont expect me to do go to youtubes etc. because the game doesnt provide the info directly
