How can this game feel epic if you can AOE down things? Easy, it makes you feel like an elite character which the unwashed masses can't take down even with mob tactics. When you (the hero) show up on the battlefield, the tides turn as the lowly infantry get swept away by the power of your attacks. You are a rallying point that everyone else looks to when things are darkest, and when the elite officers of the enemy forces show up on the field, you are the only one who can take them down. Trash and mongrels are beneath your notice, only other Epic Spirits is worth facing one on one.
