


Not at all. I've had no trouble activating it when I need it. Perhaps you are having latency problems?

However i think the idea behind holmgang was the ohshit button so you dont die from the big hit thats coming while not topped up. I'll admit it does kinda suck since it does not activate immediatly(just like clutch hallowed grounds and benedictions) with the slow response time of skills in this game.

I like how Holmgang currently works, hell, being glued to the ground has saved me from landslide doom in Titan EX runs as a last resort, overall I do feel it should be buffed a little though (Longer duration).

I play both War and Pld. Now never having had to use HG since receiving the skill (and hope to not have to if I do the job correctly) I have had to use Holmgang. Honestly the only thing that would need buffing is the root. What I propose is this:
1: Make it last as long as HG, i.e. 10 seconds.
2: During the root you cannot be moved by anything whatsoever, i.e. landslides.
3:The animation is fine but the effect should be immediate. From the time we release from clicking or pressing it should be active.
The amount of half-invincibility if the circumstances work in your favor during this 10 seconds would give at least one healer time to get your HP to a favorable level where at least the pressure would be considerably less. If someone already suggested this I apologize, I didn't read through the whole of the comments. The counterbalance to this is the same as it has always been. Like HG and the holmgang we have now it wont protect you from instant death mechanics.

Ummm, you should pull half the dungeon and pop HG while your white Mage spams holy. That's part of doing the job correctly.
On topic, I've no opinion on holmgang.

7 minutes is an awful long CD to use on trash mobs. While I see your point the strategic value isn't there. This is especially true in situations were it is either unnecessary to speed run or running the risk of facing a boss that has a high likelihood of needing it up once encountered. And while it is also true that the chances of it being up by the time you reach said boss it is not a chance that I personally am willing to take when it comes to weighing the chances of success or failure.

What dungeon boss requires Hallowed, ever? What dungeon takes short enough that you can't use Hallowed once, maybe even twice and still have it for final boss?
