"stagnation" is an overstatement IMO, but things have slowed down a lot because a lot of people are hoarding their gil and not spending it or are only willing to spend smaller amounts. The market is getting oversaturated because people don't want to spend gil, not because there's nothing they'd want to buy.

I think you are just wearing the rose colored classes a bit too tightly man. I would beg to differ. If you read the newsletter it shows no acknowledgment of faults. Not only that the plain fact of them doing this in the first place and not seeing this was going to happen is a big indicator they have no flippin clue what they are doing. Most of us could have told them what would happen.

In other words, Herpa derp SE. You can't stimulate an economy by putting in a bunch of furniture that either guilds can make themselves or people wont need for a long long time (note: until they can buy a house). You also don't make a huge new economy focus on something that costs millions of gil.. that just makes everyone hoard money. The way I see it..people are going to get sick of saving, get bored of it and not even go for it anymore. And this economy will just stay the same.

They need to make it where the storylines/dungeons stop handing out gear and make crafters viable again. But i fear its a bit too late for that.

Not that Yoshi-P has kept all his promises, but he did say that when the level cap is raised you will only be able to take one craft above 50.
That would really fix the economy when not everyone has all crafts at 50 or near it.

If people have to specialize in one trade, then the post-lvl 50 market will be where you make money. The good thing is pre 50 people can get easily accessible gear and materia for spiritbonding or leveling. When the level cap is 60, or 75, or whatever it is, nobody will care about what your level 50 crafters can make. It will all be about the Megalixirs, potions that restore 2000 hp, haste potions, etc. Crafting ilvl 120 armor

With everyone having access to all crafts, everyone aims for the higher priced faster selling items. And it kills their price until the next item is discovered, and its price killed. With a One-Craft system, that Yoshi-P said 2.0 would get post-level cap increase, the amount of things being sold will drop, and prices will rise.

The problem isn't level cap. The problem is the crafting is pointless in the first place (aside from the consumable market, which is arguable anyway, you don't even need em). Endgame used to be viable now its starting to become less and less so... the main issue is story quests and vendors (most of the time) giving gear out for cheaper that what is sold on the AH. Or in the endgame case, easily attainable via raids and tomes.

IMHO, its way too late to pull back now. They would have to do a huge overhaul of how the system works.. and they don't have another chance for a 3.0. *shrugs*

I have noticed that no matter what I put up, someone is always undercutting me by...well. Okay, I put a pet up on the Marketboards, and some guy came along this morning and undercut me by 50k. When I asked him why he would do that, he said, "You're gouging people and that's not fair!"

Yes, folks, we have White Knights of the AH. >.<

It's like that in every market. People are undercutting by extreme amounts. It's quite frankly ridiculous.

I've come to terms with that fact that past the first months, crafting now only serves as a minigame, the profit margin from buying the mats to making the items is less efficient than grinding dailies.

It's a shame, because the crafting aspect is pretty fun, but it is just not worth it anymore. The mats are cheap, undercutting has pretty much ruined the market, and finding a buyer is very difficult.

    .
No it won't. you just level a second character. I mastered every damned craft in Wow its not complicated. Less so here because one doesn't need to actually level a combat class to access it past ten.

Our FC has also been very invested in "creating" new gil, as we always try and get 8 people for maps every day. We had some double maps the other day as well as a couple of ~5k/15 myth payouts which created 25k for all 8 players. That's 200k towards housing without even selling any of the drops or moving gil from other players. Not every day is that good but we are creating more new gil than ever.
Or sell the bottles and get ~25k per map...
