Anyone else feel the economy is stagnation?

First i am on a legacy server so that might be a different on others.

Nothing selling no more if it does sells takes days. Sure a lot people are saving up for the houses rolls eyes . and that might be the problem.

Most crafting items are worthless and junk now. Leves now, you got no one selling the hqs items to get them done faster since it faster to just quick synthesis and wait a week. Farming stuff worthless unless shards. Food items no longer sells since all you need is a stack of 99 and last for a month now, should have been you do not lose the food if only raised.

New quests destroyed the material market to the point people just rather go get other gear that is not crafting and the crafting gear is losing value since not worth crafting anymore to spirit bound gears.

Alchemy well still bad. Since should have a potion Hud on the right hand side of the screen for PS3 users and faster timers for everyone.

If planning on not having a economy then just shut it down. Tell people it only a token game. and not to pretend your trying to have a economy in the game.

    Thank you
I am sure more people will explain it in saber metric depth.

100th thread about this topic. No need of it, try using the search function.
You will find a lot of posts about this topic (and 99+ copy paste threads lol) , may help expecially if you play on legacy servers where legacy players joined with capped 50 crafters on day 1 filling the marketboard of worthy items sold as crap for a few gils..
No, it's not something you can fix. The playerbase reported it already, Yoshi promised us craft will be worth the time to be 50 at all.
So far i barely touched weaver because curious and used the marketboard couple times top , go figure

Big thing sell even slower than they did before. Little thing sell for less. That's been my experience.

Yes, the economy was bad before and a disaster now; it's well documented in the forums and elsewhere.

on top of slowing down sales because of gil hoarding, they ruined alot of sources of income causing people to all flock to few remaining sources, simultaneously causing higher supply and lower demand for pretty much everything. /slowclap

I imagine many of us are in a similar situation but I've actually been making decent gil on the very same server, but I know many FC's like mine are hoarding cash for housing. After we get it and new items/etc are introduced I imagine people will be a bit more open with their pocketbooks. Our FC has also been very invested in "creating" new gil, as we always try and get 8 people for maps every day. We had some double maps the other day as well as a couple of ~5k/15 myth payouts which created 25k for all 8 players. That's 200k towards housing without even selling any of the drops or moving gil from other players. Not every day is that good but we are creating more new gil than ever.

The reason for our woes is the result of standard crafting being turned into a class that levels up with experience points to make it a more interesting experience, maybe in an effort to get more people into crafting? I don't know, and while I certainly enjoy how crafting works in this game, I knew from day 1 the economy would suffer as a result of it's ease to cap at 50. You can't have your cake and eat it too, so SE had two choices: Turn crafting into something everyone can jump into to time sink people longer after launch, or keep it status quo so a healthy crafting economy can exist.

SE does things for a reason. They are not idiots and oblivious to the pending results of their decisions. They went for the hail mary time sink because of little content existing in the game. I would not be shocked if in the future, once they are comfortable enough to do it, they start tampering with crafting to make it less accessible on a grand scale so that fewer people are doing it so that crafted items hold value and demand. There are so many ways they could go about this but they will probably do the most simple way possible: Force crafters to choose one craft to be their profession. Only that craft may advance to "AF2" levels, and only that craft will be able to craft new gear and item synths because of the AF2 stat boosts.

Also synths will probably start requiring sub crafts like in FFXI to further lengthen the gap between professional and novice. This is the likely method because I don't think lowering all crafts but the main to like level 30 or something is going to fly with the people after they did the work to reach 50. So crafts stay at 50 but one gets to go to 70 or whatever. All of this effort is a waste if the new items are not desired, so they will have to compliment and or compete with existing end game gear. Lastly this doesn't HAVE TO BE HIGH END GEAR ONLY that Af2s can craft. It can even be gear sub 50s for all I care. The point is to create a market for items. You do this by not allowing everyone and their brother and their grandmother and their grandmother's sister to craft without limitations.

    supply and demand

there's no demand for anything and as a result the supply is stockpiling causing inflation.
