I think it's a PvP changed to stun too, I notice on Paladin stun get resisted more and doesn't work now on players if you constantly spam Stun on them.
Uh? I think some people here have no idea what Diminishing returns is. Prior to the patch, you could use a stun, any stun, 3 times in quick succession, but each one after the first was shorter. First, Full Duration. Second, Half Duration. Third, Quarter Duration. Then you had a period of time where the target was immune. Once that timer was up, you could start over with 3 stuns. The change only makes the timer start after the LAST of the three stuns, not the first. Which is how it should be. It's designed so you can't stun(and certain other things, like sleep) near constantly.
Paladin stun goes 6-3-1-nothing, until you don't stun for about a min or so then it resets.
I had so many issues and frustrations with this right as the patch came out. Lol a lot of the other party members would put the blame on me even thou I knew I was hitting every eruption and it kept popping up resist. I was surprised I never got kicked for the false blame. I did realize majority of the time your able to stun 3 eruptions then it will generally be 3 stun resist. But sometimes this is not the case, there were a few times I also had it only stunning 2 times and resist 3+ after which was frustrating being the ot.

It counts ANY stun. It's not linked to the ability you use. Meaning any 3 stuns, from any player/class/job will trigger it.I had so many issues and frustrations with this right as the patch came out. its a rightful change to a mechanic that was OP in PvE (idk/c about the pvp). I think they even reduced his eruption damage a little to make up for it though
Ya I've done 2 relics since the patch and Ifrit is now even harder than he was pre 2.1 its pretty stupid. Why Reduce the damage from eruption but up the resist rate? I could see if the ilvl was high enough to where players have to be geared but people can enter with AF/AK gear and it makes it harder.
They didn't buff his resist rate, they fixed the timer for Diminishing returns. ie it's how it was supposed to be now.
The only issue I have with the stun resist change is Chimera. The damage Ram's Voice is still pretty insane and the majority of people trying that fight are really undergeared. Not to mention the huge amount of people who constantly tell the PLD to stun it all the time... (there was also a PLD telling the 2 BLM to cycle silences, but let's not go there...).
The change makes complete sense. I shouldn't be able to completely shut down every Ifrit Eruption, especially when it's extremely easy to dodge. Hell, Ifrit EX Eruptions are easy to avoid. Run out before it explodes and then run back and repeat until all the eruptions are done. There isn't even a need to run around and endanger anyone. Can even run in a smallish triangle.
Seriously, Eruption shouldn't even have needed to be interrupted in the first place.
Wow, all you guys worried about this woulda had a hard time in 1.0 ifrit lol. 0 stuns, many eruptions for you to dodge.
