    And horsebirds make their (triumphant?) return? Really?



    Didn't we make such a stink about them renaming chocobos to "horsebirds" back in 2010 for the japanese? Why must this make a comeback even calling chocobos hosebirds in the event......

    I haven't done the event yet. Are there actually chocobo/horse hybrids or are you referring to the horse kabuto?

    I'm fairly certain the horse kabuto is because it is going to the be the year of the horse and has nothing to do with horsebirds.

    No, it makes a reference to a 2010 thing that they should have just let die ;P I couldn't help but comment since even way back in 2010 the mistranslatoin irked me hehehe

    That pic was an old one making fun of the "horsebird" aka chocobo.

    They didn't rename them, the team that was working on it was Chinese and it translates literally Horsebird in chinese, so that was what they were called in the beta. It wasn't a renaming, it was just a translation error. This is just a reference to that.
