Helping an FC mate with SM Garuda. Run in and as I get close, instead of using shield lob I accidentally hit stoneskin macro. She LoS aggros me, then quickly goes after my other party members. Had to chase her a bit. Blm was quick to stop attacking. Everything else went fine.

Two from me.

First: FC 3/4 doing AK/WP runs. "Mae, Shield Oath" has pretty much become a meme for us when I tank.

Second: FC 2/4 doing an AK the other day, me & BRD complaining about Relic+1 BLM being bad and talk about 'accidentally' killing him. Last bridge before final boss tanking the 3rd to last Dullahan on the bridge, it spins and he(BLM) starts jumping around and lands outside the AoE. 2 seconds later he dies, me and BRD lose it in FC Chat. Truly accidentally killing him, and funny as hell.

I had to dig for this post otherwise I would have put this in healer horror stories.

I'm normally a WHM main, but I've been working on my tank lately, and in my attempt to get my Garuda sword so I could eventually tank Titan, I swear I met some of the most interesting bad players.

One night I ran into the same handful of people and they all seemed very nice, but oh their dps was poor. A couple runs I was like "hnm this is taking longer than I'm used to" and then one run, we went around that bloody circle so many times times, survived twice them not killing the second add fast enough and many times using the 1 bar limit break just to kill one faster... we faced Chirada/Superana at least 8 times, it was unbelievable... and they killed the red one first the first time so she healed so much that I wondered if we'd ever kill her. and the healers were really struggling. But I typed out tips when I could and coached limit breaks and we eventually did... Funny thing was that was the round my sword dropped it was glorious.

I use an Xbox controller and for some reason, once I target the bees on Demon Wall, I can't use the direction pad to retarget the boss (even if the bees are dead). The first time this happened, I was just kind of running around (while the bees were on me) frantically trying to switch back to the boss.... I got repelled off the side and we wiped.

Now, anytime I tank it I'll justl grab the bees and hold them while watching/moving with the bosses mechanics. It's still impossible for me to switch back... (well, I can click him with a mouse, but it's awkward as I'm sitting in my chair in front of a 55 inch TV... the mouse is right beside the TV itself).

Another time on Demon Wall, I forgot to turn Defiance on after a Wipe. I attack the boss as the healer says "Defiance", At the time, I kept defiance on a second cross bar with some other stuff... like sprint... So, I hit sprint by mistake and then frantically try to right the ship by at least turning Defiance on and flashing.... yep.. I was dispelled off while derping with my bars.

Tanking ifrit HM one night for a friend on relic chain when i couldn't sleep but had work the next day, didn't even think about moving him to an edge.. party was flipping the hell out because i was tanking him in the middle of the ring. when i was asked why i did it, apparently i had told them that because a circle has no corner, i couldn't take him to the edge, and simply resumed tanking in the middle. long story short, fell asleep mid dungeon, had a text in the morning with a 30sec video clip of the.. uh.. "tanking".. in my text messages. needless to say it was embarrassing to log in that day..

So yesterday I hit my first level 50, so I was progressing through the story mode. Got to CM, had a pretty solid party, throughout most of the run I was the off-tank as I had never run the instance before. I'm there geeking/freaking out because of all the levels of bad-ass-ery that I am seeing. From the cannon pulls, to just the overall feel of the place. I guess because it was my first time I found it incredibly thrilling.

Each fight was explained to me by the main tank, and everyone was incredibly helpful throughout the run (thank you commendation system?) Either way being it was my first time doing the run, I skipped through all the cinematics (as I could always watch them later) and when we got to Ultima.... OH EM GEE. I was flipping out like a teenage girl watching a Twilight in theaters.

In any case, after the first round with Ultima the main tank asked if I wanted to try tanking the next phase. Blood was pumping, heart was racing (for story mode isn't that sad?) and I was doing great, up until that weird bomb that resonates then detonates. I had no idea what it did or how big the AOE was and by the time I realized it was something that was gonna blow up, I literally took it to the face and the main tank had to step in. The following fight I was able to tank though it was significantly easier.

Guess it was one of those deer in the headlight moments, but if that was just story mode, I can't wait to experience the rush of hard mode fights!

so me and my fc was running CT for the first time. very first pull i got the valefore and faced hid butt to the dps and healers.... ooopsie! i forgot about the tail swipe.... then my group goes splat.... oops

thwen there is this one time i ran off the edge in titan by accident

and the time as i was tanking titan i got hit by landslide trying to avoid bombs

First time tanking Brayflox, I was very very nervous. Got past the first miniboss no problems. Got to the pair of Firedrakes, and right as we entered and I charged forward with shield lob... my #1 toolbar vanished. Went empty. All my actions gone. "Noooo...!"

Party screaming "Taaaank...!" me wondering what happened, saying "I lost my hotbar!" and them saying "How do you lose a hotbar?" "Just wipe already and get it fixed."

Very patient group.

Turned out I'd accidentally *rolled* my hotbar to #10 position with a bad mouse swipe. Didn't know about the up/down arrows until then. I got everything settled and we finished the run. The other three were good sports - "It happens."
