FFXIV on Nintendo WII U

ok... I'm seeing people talking about Nintendo showing PS3 and or Xbox360 footage. This is fairly common practice and happens quite a lot.

For Instance Sony used Project Gotham Pictures when promoting the PS3

Square Enix used super imposed Xbox 360 buttons on PS3 FFXIII Images for promotion.

And Probably the best current example is all Battlefield 3 videos, demos and promotions are all PC footage, Nothing from either console has been shown.

to be far, your last one is not true, they did show PS3/360 vidoes, they where on the other smaller screens, it was just that they looked so much like the PC version a lot did not realize.

I'll admit that the tablet controller is probably a great idea, as I think it'll be useful for implementing interface elements and the like. Hopefully it's not as awkward to hold as it looks.

I am sure it will be fine, just a new controller to get used to, not like we had to do that before right? ;p

That and I see this controller feeling more comfortable when playing Mario Kart, then the Wiimote was.

Okay to clarify:

WiiU =/= Wii (because there are a bunch of people getting confused)

The ipad looking device is a CONTROLLER not the console, the console (WiiU) is between the size of the xbox360 and the ORIGINAL WII

The footage with the bird flying through the garden was taken from EITHER the PS3 OR the Xbox360 (Nintendo would NOT disclose which of the two systems it was from, 2ndly they DID NOT try to sell it as their own; rewatch the video and listen to the actual words they say (what it CAN do and not what it IS DOING))

It uses Bluray-like discs but since the name is copyright they are calling it an "optimized DVD disc" or whatnot, its the same damn thing

Developers have already said that the unit is ON PAR with PS3/Xbox360 systems (So stop saying it won't be able to handle something that is coming to either of these systems)

Nintendo's stock has been at a low for around a year, since there was no more need for a Wii (everyone and their mother already owns/ed one) and being so their stock has dropped, it is nothing to worry about, in fact I would encourage getting stock in Nintendo if you play the market, because at the release of a console the stocks usually skyrocket for a couple months

The only official specs that have been released to my knowledge (unless something was released OFFICIALLY by Nintendo while I was at work) are that the game discs will be able to hold 25GB of data (Xbox 360's discs are roughly 7-8GB disc sizes, so its more on par to a BluRay) and it will have 8GB of flash memory (Which we don't know if this is going to be the HDD or just a place for save games; as flash memory has become quite popular for doing just this in consoles)

Finally, do your research before you hate or like, that is my personal objectification.

I'm sorry to tell you're wrong but the bird footage was from the WII U. What was from PS3 and 360 was the 3rd party games they showed.

Considering all of your info on the new system is based off of rumors, of course I'm going to take it with a grain of salt. Also, years of Nintendo always having inferior hardware just gives more of a reason to doubt that their new system will be anywhere near as powerful as even a $1000 Macbook

you can't compare a console with a PC/MAC. 2 different architectures. If you look at plain number and compare it with a PC it won't mean anything. A console with specs that are half of what your PC is will always plays games a lot better then ur PC can.

Well, if they are bright they simply drop the PS3 port and move right to the WII U.
PS3 limitations problem (textures, zone sizes) solved.

They can't do that. The PS3 version is basically finished. They are only holding it off because the game is not in good condition yet. There's still too much to fix and if they were to release the game now it would only be rated 5/10. That would kill their sales along with any hope of the PS3 release saving this game.

I think that if they really want to succeed, they should have FFXIV on as many platforms as possible. PC, PS3. 360, MAC and WII U.

SE already stated that they want it on the 360 but MS won't let it happen because of XBL Policies. Yes they allowed FFXI on 360 but that was because they were desperate to get JP dev support since then they have changed their policy and SE would have to jump through to many hoops to get FFXIV on it.

Well that's too bad fro MS. SE can still get it on MAC and WII U.

it is because they are stupid -.- the game demos where of the PS3/360 versions of said games, but the Bird tech demo was of Wii:U

Anyone think it would be nice to see the world map on the controller's screen? It would get rid of the need to check your map from time to time to check if your in the right direction. All the menus could be displayed there too, with tabs separating the different menus.

One thing i don't like with FFXIV is that you can only see once action bar. you need to scroll between action bar to find your abilities and that is annoying for me. With the new WII U controller you could see all of your action bars at the same time and re-arrange them quickly with the touch screen.
