How many big FC are on the servers who want a big house for their guild? How many L size plots are in each neighbourhood?
At least on the legacy servers, there are enough FC who would have bought all L size plots right after the patch if the prizes were like on the non-legacy servers.

The idea about housing was that 2.1 would provide enough extra gil to afford one in a few months. (I don't agree with that approach, but that's what SE said.) And it hasn't been a few months yet. Those who did get medium and large houses seem to have gotten the gil by taking much of it from other players (market board, primal runs).

It is odd that there are only 3 large plots to 7 medium in each ward, and even more odd that there are 20 smalls. Does SE really think they'll sell housing in that ratio? Are there really that many 10-member FCs that will be happy with such limited space?

Also, right now, there's no official info about the actual benefits of housing. Are there buffs, features, or content? Are any of these unique to the large size? The reason I ask is that the high prices may seem more justified if these things were announced.

In my server the price was 5 times that of group A, it's a shame they can't just drop it down to meet group A's prices immediately but at least they have done something to correct the unfair price differences.

It's the nature of their response that is not satisfactory. I'm not going to be happy with them phoning it in.

Everyone has a cutoff for what they consider to be a "big FC", but I did an experiment last week (12/17) to prove this isn't true, at least on Balmung server. I'll post it again:

I am doing a thought experiment based upon the LARGE housing plots: the most expensive ones.

Square-Enix has launched its housing with FIVE 'wards' of each of the THREE different housing zones. Furthermore, I believe that there are 3 large house lots in each of the zones. (Don't cite me on that, there may be more or less in Uldah and Gridania, but I know there are 3 in Limsa Lominsa.)

Now. There are, checking the Lodestone right now, precisely 11 Free Companies on Balmung Server with more than 150 registered members. Let's assume that all 11 decide that they want a LARGE house for their guildhall.

There are literally enough large houses, in the Mist housing area alone, to accommodate all 11 free companies with FOUR empty large house lots left over. Not to mention the leftover THIRTY in the Goblet and Lavender Beds zones.

Let's do it another way. There are 23 companies on Balmung with >100 registered members. There are 45 large housing lots in all wards of all three zones. Literally half of the available large houses are left over, with all of Balmung's large free companies accommodated.

    Which leads me to ask...

...who is it they want living in these houses, again?

Don't really see how it is a punishment for legacy players. You have tons of more gill then anyone on a new server has, so you need a gill sink accomodating that. Increased housing prices is one way of doing that.

    False.

You asume every legacy player has millions, I can asure you we dont.
You asume that all new players in legacy servers make millions, I can also asure you they dont.

With the markets basically dead the only way to make money is from fates/quests/daylies/dungeons wich, as mind blowing as it might be, give the exact same gil to you in Cerberus as it does to us in Sargatanas.
