Yes, a brd need to kite, if they want to do dmg while getting focused, same for caster. Kiting needs a snare, which bards for example dont have, or you need to jump, turn back, shoot your instant and turn forward to run further away, so you need to jump, otherwise you will be greatly slower than your follower and he will stun and kill you, thats why caster and brds need in pvp to jump.

i understand you need it to fire off abilities without backpedaling but it shouldnt interupt melees attacks by forcing a position recheck

Nothing to say, i fully agree and wish melees get some love, its hard enough to bring on your damage while everybody uses sprint
