they messed up their delivery time. CT being released in 2.1 forced them to not upgrade crafter gear ilvl. why? because of CT lockouts. if they introduced ilvl 80 crafted gear now, no one would run CT for the gear except for collectors. its gonna take some months before they can get everything in sync the way it should be.

I need money to pay the teleport fees. Some NPC out there is rolling in gil cause I've got places to go. Like Horizon for the billionth time. Even though they already moved to Mor Dhona. I swear in 2.2 I'll probably get some main quest to go pick up Minfilia's coffee maker that she forgot in the move.

Sorry, what are we talking about?

Making almost every piece of equipment dropped in dungeons UNTRADABLE while providing stats that match or surpass crafted items of their level means there is no reason to buy crafted items.
I totally agree with you in so many points.
it makes even sense! why the hell does some monster wear some perfect fitting gear for someone. (or put it up in some treasure chest)
like in some MMO's a wolf just coughs up a 2H bastard sword when you slay him xD

i would say, just let monsters drop some unique mats(rare stuff), >>no gear<< and the economy will regenerate itself.

I can only speak for myself here as someone who isn't a crafter and only makes money in dungeons and from selling Philosophy mats. The thing that really bothers me about this game is the fact that I have nothing to spend my money on. I am not realistically going to get a house as I am sitting at like 400,000gil. But for someone who is only concerned with doing PvE I have nothing to spend money on.

I know people hate when anything about WoW comes up but I think this is a good example here. As a PvE player (or PvP for that matter) I had to constantly have the best enchants on my weapon and gear plus have it socketed with the best sockets. Both of those things cost quite a bit of money to either pay someone to do for you or to get the mats to do it yourself. So far this game has zero materia slots in any of the non-crafted gear I have seen and there is no way to enchant gear either. So basically you get a piece of gear and you are done... no need to spend money improving it via the crafting classes. It just feels so wrong to have hit 50 a while ago and I literally haven't spent money on anything besides the things for the relic weapon quest line.

I have to agree the economy is pretty much screwed, it was bad before, but once 2.1 hit shit went downhill real fast. They put these absurd price tags on housing (which is just a vanity thing, nothing integral to the game) and everyone looses their minds! Virtually no demand due to trying to save money, and ever increasing supply making prices plummet. Not only that they took away several good ways of making gil, one being materia by handing it out like freaking candy for no logical reason whatsoever. The reward didn't even make sense for the quest you completed! On top of that they added no new craftable gear besides PvP gear, which isn't anything special. Leaving only the old stuff behind, which with the massive increase in philosophy being obtained soon also caused it to plummet in price. Leaving essentially nowhere to make any real money, yet here they are telling us how much easier it will be to make money in 2.1, trying to justify their insane housing costs. SE can suck a big one for these terrible

One simple solution would be materia.

SE could add another tier to it, let's call it Materia + X, you take two materia of the same tier and you can meld them together, so you can (at lower levels) have a single materia that offers 3+crit and 3+determination or 3+vitality and 3+parry, each tier (up to IV) can me melded together, so for IV you could meld together 4 pieces of materia.

Net effect, materia is moved from the game very, very quickly, crafted gear for SB'in gets heavy demand as people want to get the materia (which is now expensive), crafted 2 star items have the possibility of being on par with ilvl 90 stuff so DoW/M can make gil from mats as the demand for them go through the roof, DoL have demand as the item required to make the gear to SB gets higher.

Of course, it would need heavy balancing to make sure a certain materia combination isn't hideously over-powered, and there is a chance that after melding 2 materia together, the 3rd/4th/5th have the risk of blowing the materia up (which removes items and gil from the economy, a risk/reward system). Yeah, it's too early in the morning, bah humbug.

I used to sell Velvet for around 1k a piece , you can now buy the Velvet for like 130 gil from Beast tribe NPC. So now Webs and crafting velvet to sell it is useless . ( one way i was making money ) I have 50 fishing ....Fishing COULD be profitable if what little fishers there are band together and flood the MB with fish at prices over 10 gil . Lots of Cul , Alc use Fish . SO make up the difference there . Mining i have at 24 and really its become semi useless . Everyone under cutting everyone just to make some fast gil . And now again most of the items are sold in beast tribe market NPC . SE really made it really hard to make any real money in this game . Then decide to charge us a arm a leg our first born and an kidney just to own a small FC house . Such madness
