What economy? Players don't need to buy anything to play the game effectively. Even Twintania progression only used Food/Potions sparingly. All professions are largely pointless outside of vanity reasons.
-Potions/Food Buffs only needed for Twintania
-Leveling/Alt gear is pointless, just FATE or dungeon grind
-Gear with no materia slots = nobody cares about Materia
-Crafting is useless and is unnecessary for endgame -- just use Darklight and do CT now.
-Cheap repairs, lots of gil generated from just completing duties
-No use for Tomes of Philosophy anymore once you have your Darklight, and market is completely flooded with crafting materials making crafted gear even cheaper
-Vanity items for FC housing only, which are all crafted within the guild and isn't part of the economy.
I ask again, what economy? lol 2mil+ gil on a nonlegacy server and there is nothing to spend it on. (I know thats not a lot compared to others who actually tried to make money)

They need to do something with DoH and DoL, ya game is new and they are looking at 80% of player who care less about that DoL and DoH. But a lot of people really like that part of the game.
They need to tweak the price on craftable items from tomes.
They need to make Craftable gear that is at par with best gear in the game but different stats. IE Big boost in Status A but no status B.
They need to remove any mystery about melding and let us know that if we meld something it will not add 0
Making Blue Gear meldable so there is a reason to convert current gear and customization so everyone isn't one mold fit all in endgame.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
1.0 crafting was pretty much all you had for gear, unless you lucked out on getting the 1% drop rate on DL gear. 1.0 i was always able to make money from DOL & DOH you could not 100% a HQ item you had to get lucky. 1.0 you had a strong economy even with RMT botting because all items had value and all gear was re-sellable with or without spritbonding.
1.0 economy kills the broken ARR economy 100 times over.
note: darklight gear came in 1.0's later half.
The only way to balance it out for having gear that is as good as endgame raids is to make crafting to reach that tier cost millions so that not everyone will be able to do it. If anyone can do it and get the items they want for a cheaper price than on the markets, why bother using the market in the first place?
The fact that you are even calling this game the worst economy implies that it has an economy which is a lot more than you I can say for just about any p2p mmo I've ever played outside of FFXI.

When FFXIV 1.0 first came out, though it was an unfinished product with glitches and bad design, it was eventually going to get better but the aim was always there: Eozea lifestyle; Without gathering there is no craft, without crafting there is no adventure, without adventurers, the battles lost!
Somewhere down the line where FFXIV had to succeed, MMO & RPG kinda took seperate paths...
Typical to succeed in sales and not to just appeal to a genre-specific audience don't you think?
This game should falls in the F2P category along with those others' because it's not the kind of MMO i want to invest in for subscription forever if the economy fails and everyone is treated poorly. Face it, it not just the economy, it's the design- but the MMO has attracting harassment, abuse, punishment, discrimination and other issues found in other F2P games.
Terrible customer service IMO, I've not heard from SE in a whole 3 weeks.

i think they should just make it to where you choose a specialization. two for DoH, one for DoL. and any other gathering or crafts you choose other than your specializations, you cant make or obtain the highest level items. i think that could help a little since not everyone could gather or craft everything and never needing another person, never needing the market board at all.
Yeah everything is too easily obtainable by everyone so there's nothing of value.
