Extreme mode primals don't drop weapons. You do have to beat all 3 to get the tokens for the i90 weapons added to the shop (lo and behold, the Ancient Buckler's in there too).

i know they dont drop weapons but was asking where to get the questline as i got no single quest item

Do you get 1 token per primal for the week, or do you have to kill all 3 before you get any tokens? Just wondering for getting the PLD shield.

Once you kill the three Ex Primals the first time you get three tokens to turn in for weapon of your choice. You then, the following week, get to do a quest that sends you to kill those primals again for tokens to turn in for weapons. That is the weekly quest.

1 token per primal. 3 primals a week. 3 tokens for 1 weapon (or 1 weap/1 shield for PLD)
