I wonder how other games with cluster servers handle this. in TSW for example you could always invite whoever you wanted, no matter which server they came from
It depends upon how the data servers etc are organized. Honestly I'd love the data servers to allow cross-server friends (link it to their lodestone character id code maybe?).
