    I wonder how silly the people who were raging at how 2.1 income wasn't going to increase much feel now.

    Depends on who you ask... ask a guy who was making hundreds of thousands of gil per day farming fleece or making materia how he feels about his couple thousand of gil from dungeons.

    As a tank, I have been getting 5k from duty roulette. Plus the gil from mobs in the dungeon. Not sure if Hyperion is in my DF group but I cant see it being that much different per battle group....

    I didn't say earning more, its just almost easier to go farm dungeons instead of farming materials to sell (at the risk of being greatly undercut and because the markets are flooded with the materials as is). Gil drops from mobs and you can get allagan pieces to NPC. I'm not saying it's the BEST way to make gil. There's still a few markets that aren't effected by the Map drops, the Beastmen NPCs, sidequests and main storyline quest rewards. It's just most are already being subjected to undercutting. As I and Draucant said, atleast the Materia market will stabilize down the road.

    a couple people reported earning 50k/day running dungeons.. ive done alot of dungeons (pre-patch) and i havent seen anything like that. something must have changed

    The Grade 5 maps have been pretty good. Between 5-15 myth, 1600-5000 gil and random crafting mats/housing item drops. I haven't done a lot due to time constraints, but I've made 50-60k since the patch not utilizing the MB at all. Just been doing my dailies, treasure maps and the occasional duty roulette if I have time. I guess the story quests added a bit as well.

    First DR bonus + basic DR bonus + 2k-4k from killing mobs is around 10k total. Then you get ~5k per run after that. It'd only take 8 more dungeon runs to get 50k from just dungeons. There is definitely a lot more gil being generated now rather than gil being lost. I suppose that'll change once people can afford housing as that is huge chucks being removed from circulation.

    Those prices were extremely inflated and not at all within what the items should be selling for once the market gets more stable. Most people knew those prices would not last. I almost always post things on the AH with a cost to make/earn + reasonable profit rate; sometimes it is less than the other listings and sometimes it is more and they sit for longer.

    There is more gil being generated but it's not being circulated very much.

    On Sargatanas there is a mountain of unused materials and items rotting on the market boards. The Devs even increased the supply in patch 2.1 so it's probably going to get worse.

    However, the real problem is lack of demand for anything crafted. It would be really great if the Devs and Yoshi P could create a demand for these things, such as turning in gear for influence in a zone in FFXI.

    Awesome guys! thanks for the comments. I just wanted to respond to a few here to ask a few questions and clarify a few things.

    The reason I wasnt really wanting to talk about Crafting and such is because its not a gil fountain. Its not something that brings more money into the econamy, it's only a means of shuffling it around. Sad to hear that you arent making as much but we needed more ways to get gil into the game. Look more for the new rare materiels and recipes.

    So, how did you make money from the fleece you farmed? Sell it at the Market Wards? Ok. Next question, where did the person who bought that item get their gil from? A gil fountain. Before the biggest fountain was through the quests as you leveled, which were exhaustible. What I was looking for was how are people making money now from these new fountains (the ones I listed) I tried to stay away from Mat's because I know thats just a shuffling of gil, not gil coming out of the game itself.

    Ya, that is an unfortunate side effect of the cost of housing, that many people want, being so high. Now there are less buyers cause they want to hold on to their gil for their mansions. We should see the prices of mats once again start going up in the future once people start buying houses, then they will need to furnish them. So, buy now while costs are down, play the stocks! Buy low! Sell high!
