Relic Weapons now pointless

Anybody doing T5 probably won't want you if you dont have a +1 therefore it will still be needed.

Not relying on RNG and having better stat allocations makes the regular Relics better for me.

I'm not doing Twintania and have no hopes of beating the EM primals, anyway, so to me the +1 is useless.

My relic+1 makes a cool noise when I use it, glows and has little sparkles chasing after it so yes, it was totally worth it. It'll be a while before I get my Allagan weapon as I still need to gear up to attempt T5.

If you follow the relic quest, Killing titan ONE time guarantees a relic. Good luck farming him for his (Butt ugly) equivalent.

To be fair, the axe looks bloody awesome. I wish all greataxes were that big.

Allagan weapons are the best weapons in the game.
Relic Zeniths are the second best weapons in the game and are commonly held as a requirement to obtain Allagan Weapons
Relics are required to obtain Relic Zeniths.

Ergo Relics are useful, without them you can't get Zeniths, without which you are very unlikely to get Allagan.

Also, iirc back when ARR was first announced, Yoshi-P said that relics will remain one of the top tiers through XIV's lifespan as they will get regular upgrades as level caps increase (something Allagan won't get).

Besides, I love that there are options in this game to gear up. Relic is guaranteed with the quest, or you can farm Titan (again, good luck!). Zenith is guaranteed with some grinding, or you can get a good group and go through EM Garuda, Titan and Ifrit (again, good luck! lol). Two different ways to go about getting the same ilvl. Options are a good thing.

Lets see, to get my Ifrit weapon, I had to run that bastard 30+ successful times. Ifrit is an easy 8-10 minute. [Snip]

I haven't run Ifrit HM since the update but with the stun nerf I hear that it has just gotten a whole lot harder.

Edit: ha, and I ended up running Ifrit probably 50 times and never did get a PLD sword to drop for me. My first primal-related weapon was actually my relic.

This is true.

I feel like some people can't understand that its an option, and not a clear cut best for that tier... that fries some peoples brains because they must have a clear cut answer.
