It's very frustrating to know that I can't play my full potential on the only way I know how to play. Some people got used to the XHB, I simply can't. 60% of the time I find myself hitting the wrong button or switching targets trying to hit the right button. It'd be so much faster/easier for me if I had a legacy hotbar like 1.0 had. That was the best way for me to play.
I find the XHB far easier to use than 1.0s, and I played XI for 7 years only on a controller. The system did take a little getting used to, especially as I already had 50 jobs and many abilities. Given the speed of the game is faster than it was in 1.0, the newer version feels better. I do sometimes still hit the wrong buttons (rare, but it happens); then again, I also did the same in 1.0 whenever the nice UI lag made an appearance.

From my own experiences having used both I'd expect that, whilst it may be comfortable for some, it would suffer in game play performance in comparison to kb/m (keybinds help greatly) and controller users using XHB than using a game pad legacy set up.

Not that I don't fully appreciate having more options for those who prefer that system. I just think it would add to problems more than solve them; especially when you meet those kb only "enthusiasts".

My only gripe with the controller is that I have limited options for button binds, particularly the ability to make a button do nothing. I used to have a PTT bind on my pad for raids, so I didn't have to hover my finger over the keybind.
