I'm not even one of these people but: By starting my own party instead of whining that people way overgeared than I am won't carry me. Whoa what a concept.

Some people aren't looking for the "challenge" of carrying gimps through content and are more interested in farming as quickly as possible with no hiccups.

I don't think it's fair to call someone "gimp" when they meet the ilvl requirements to do the dungeon. Now if they're wearing a bunch of true garbage gear (like level 30 accessories at level 50) then that's another story. But if someone is in full AK gear with a Primal weapon and maybe some DL accessories, they're not gimp; they're just outgeared by everyone around them.

This is correct. Unfortunately, I've seen too many players that, while they have their AF (aka welfare ilvl50), their other slots are usually populated with sub level 20 items or worse, in some cases, they don't even have a ring on. There's accessories you can get from the Grand Company as well.

Every time I see a level 50 combat class wearing GP earrings, or mages in strength gear, or melee's in INT gear... I die a little inside. Why do so many of these people exist, and who is carrying them through the dungeons? Stop... please, just educate these poor souls before they play in traffic or something.

That said, I do agree with the OP. There's far too many people who flat-out refuse to do HM primals with anyone not wielding a relic weapon. I guess they forgot that to get the relic, you need to beat them first.

You know... Logically speaking since you fight for AF and don't need others helping you to do so, wouldn't anything that's the opposite of that be deemed as welfare/handout gear? Anything earned socially could pretty much fall under the term 'Welfare Gear' especially chest/tome gear.

By welfare, she means that you didnt have to actually do anything for it other than hopping on a chocobo and running past some mobs. vs having to actually earn it (which is a foreign concept in this game)

Didn't ask for them to carry me. If anything, I asked for them to stop joining groups that I made with the disclaimer that we didn't have "super omega gear +5 haxxors" and leaving over and over again. Don't trivialize the whole concept just because you cannot understand a basic point. K, thanks.(I felt I had to add that, since you added something extra to your post)


I guess I just don't see the point of being a jerk (ironic, considering my retort to Pallas). I regularly help out on Hydra and Chimera now. I also let people know what item level I'm at (for the record, 62; my weapon is a joke, thus wanting to continue the march towards better stuff). I have been personally using DF for just about everything, just because the people in RT on my server won't roll with anyone i80 or lower.

There are some people who will, I'm not saying they don't exist. But the overwhelming amount of people who are doing stuff like responding with bad gif art bring down the social level.

To that point, the reason my weapon is a joke is because finding a group to grab the higher primal weapons or relic is part of the problem that the OP was acknowledging.
