By definition "everyone" cannot make money on the market boards because 1. money is just changing hands, and it would be changing back and forth between "everyone", rather than piling up for just the few; and 2. If everyone can easily make/gather things to sell, they won't go to the market board to buy it. So if more people did do what early crafters did, nobody could have made as much because it would have been shared across more people and the demand would have been diminished.

Thing is, most people are illiterate when it comes to economics and don't 'get it', hence the stupid arguments here and over other topics such as legacy->non-legacy transfers with the 1m gill cap in place.

Also, a LOT of gil was made by early exploits which SE took their time to close, while at the same time not confiscating the gil made by such mechanisms. There's a reason why some early V2 players have more gil than any Legacy player.

I like the idea of company coins instead of gil. This make purchasing a guild house into a group venture instead what we have now. Giving all our hard earn gil to ONE person and hoping later on he doesn't kick us out of his guild. I don't know about you but I don't feel good about buying ONE person (leader of the guild) a huge house to do as he pleases.

So as long as it is the way it is, I will not waste my gil to buy another person a house. I will wait for personal housing. And let other idiots piss away their gil to buy ONE person his house.

This is one of the biggest issues, because after all... ALL of this hard work falls into ONE player's hands.

The way I see it is that it makes more sense to take the money we have saved up, Buy out all of an item on the marketboard and corner the market on our server for that item.

Well lemme just take that 5m I was going to use on housing to buy out ALL of some items and repost them for triple or even quadruple... that 5% loss is nothing if I were to do that.

Basically in this extreme example, by having such high housing prices, the economy will suffer.
