Though the thing is the legacy servers having more gil held by legacy players meant that there was more gil trading hands if you were selling things and trying to make money, which is what SE was calculating things by.

So if you ignore interacting with other players then it is reasonable to say that it's harder to make the gil for buying a house on a legacy server, but that's ignoring the gorilla in the room.

Though this isn't to say the house prices aren't pretty high.
