I also did Turn 4 on SCH yesterday, and my Obey didn't reset after the mob I targeted died. Like usual, I targeted one of the bugs at the beginning, pressed Obey, she stayed on Obey the whole fight. *shrug*

Incorrect. In order for Eos to free cast Embrace you have to target and enemy and click "obey" THEN you have to click "Steady". If you do not put here on Steady after pressing Obey she will do nothing until you tell her to.
If you press steady after you press obey, Eos will free cast Embrace only until she either dies or you resummon her.
then how the heck do you initiate full manual control? i was under the impression that target mob-->obey-->GUARD was only auto cast embrace, and that target mob-->obey--> steady was full manual control and that she wouldn't cast embrace. i've heard a million different things by now. is there any way to do what i'm describing?
Steady before the fight so they won't use their buffs once you aggro. Target a mob, press Obey. They will stay on obey until they die, and they will automaticly cast embrace on people as usual, and you can use your buffs when you need them to, and using one will not trigger them to go auto-retard and use the rest of the buffs un-necessarily.then how the heck do you initiate full manual control? i was under the impression that target mob-->obey-->GUARD was only auto cast embrace, and that target mob-->obey--> steady was full manual control and that she wouldn't cast embrace. i've heard a million different things by now. is there any way to do what i'm describing?
All you have to do is hit obey then heel and it will follow you and focus on healing and you can trigger the other moves on your own.
Random but do you consider Scholar to be a healer, dps or both?
In the case of both you aren't doing anything well, then.
Seems to me that that Eos is slower now to maybe compensate for the lustrate buff(or something?) WHM are sad about the nerd of medica 2. Tanks are bored because enmity is a snorefest, summoners are still crying about thunder and the list goes on....
Awesome patch!
¡Eso no sirve!
I'm not main Scholar, but I've figured out this way, I've tested it and it seems pretty effective. Just use this macro on an ENEMY right after you summon Eos (or you move to a new dungeon area)
Macro name: Obey+Heel+Steady
Obey used on ENEMY will have pet follow orders, Heel will make it follow you again, Steady will make it heal more and earlier. Fun fact, Steady doesn't replace Obey, I'm still able to issue orders if I use Steady after I've used Obey on an enemy./micon Steady pet Eos
/pac Obey <t>
/wait 0.5
/pac Heel <me>
/wait 0.5
/pac Steady <me>
/echo Obey+Heel+Steady done
To turn it to auto-mode again use Sic on a ENEMY (default option).
I think this is going to be fixed and this is all just a big error. The fact you have to use Obey on an enemy is just stupid and makes no sense, and also the pet stops following you while in Obey.. just why? And why Steady doesn't replace Obey? I can't believe we have to use a macro everytime now, but well, that's a workaround to his stupid way they changed it.

I don't see any use for steady at all any more, I've not noticed any increased healing speed or anything in that stance. Obey does what steady used to do, you just need to target a mob if you resummon. Obey > Heel. Obey stays on even if you change zone/dungeon. I posted a simple macro in the sch macros thread that you can use to replace your heel hotkey.
/pac Obey <t>
/pac Obey <tt>
/pac Obey <focus>
/wait 1
/pac Heel
Just need to remember to hit it if she dies and you resummon. Same button used to Heel her after placing/whatever.
Certainly agree, obey should be usable without an enemy target.

Can't do that. Pet is in free stance. . .
maybe it's just my impression, but steady (that is basically the same as companion's "healing stance") makes your pet focus on heals at higher HP %, and also do Embrace without you ordering it (in Obey it does nothing, right? not even Embrace)
I had
/pac Obey <t>
/pac Obey <tt>
/pac Obey <focus>
before too
but then i noticed that if i happen to use it on the wrong target then it becomes all messed up.
having only /pac Obey <t> gives me way more control over it.
and /wait 1 is too long. 0.5 is enough
