Who cares if you have a TON of friends that pass on something that you can greed on?

Who cares if you get tons of drops for your alt characters. I would rather have fun alt runs that 1 run per week that was actually productive. Jeez, it's not the highest ilevel stuff in the game... and with lots of classes leveled to 50, you could run it a TON of times before you had all your alts geared.

What is the big fear of people suddenly getting lots of gear for one of their 5+ alt classes that have tons of slots each? I mean REALLY? At 1 piece per week, you aren't getting gear much faster than myth token gear.... and that is just boring small instance running.

I'm sorry but these ridiculous artificial barriers are just really bad design... happening over and over again.

Say kids, what do dungeons drop?

    kids:PHILOSOPHY!!!

What do you buy with Philosophy?

    kids:GEARRRRRR!

    Item level?

    kids:SEVENTYYYY

how would you like it if you could grind a dungeon that drops ilvl 80 without loot restrictions, then you wouldn't have to spend any of your philosophy?

    kids:YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!

also it takes two weeks to get ilvl90(can even take 1 week depending if you still have some myths) and people are still upset?

It really is idiocy. I am sure there is some technical constraint we are not aware of, but on the surface, this is a moronic and stupid implementation of a dungeon.

This is something that could be seen from miles away. What is the core problem they were trying to solve for? Was the requirement to ensure that players did not gear up too quickly? If so, this was the best solve?????? To the OP's post, if I had to pick one of two bad options, I would go with the dungeon lockout and unlimited loot in a run because lets face it, after smashing your face against a dungeon once or twice, the reason you keep going is for the loot.

SE decided to the reverse and lock out the incentive and allow you to experience the joys of CT over and over and over and over again for the sake of beating the content again.

SE, gently and politely get rid of the person/team that develops these ideas because they are harming your game.

I'll post what I posted on a different thread as its relevant. Hey SE, there was some thought and logic put into this thread so please take a look at it.

I'll list out the various potential CT lockout options

    1) CT no lockout w/ loot lockout across all jobs - This is the option they are going with in 2.1. You can run as much as you want per week, but can only loot one item across all jobs. If you run CT as much as you can across all your jobs, but once you loot an item, regardless of job, you are locked out on loot until the next week.

    2) CT lockout w/o loot lockout across all jobs - This is how coils runs. In this case, you can run CT only once a week but potentially loot everything across all jobs.

    3) CT no lockout w/o loot lockout across all jobs - In this option, you can run CT as much as you want per week and you can loot gear every time you run CT. You can theoretically run CT as many times as you can per week and loot everything and gear all of your class. This is the most open option.

    4) CT lockout w/ loot lockout across all jobs - In this option, you can only run CT once a week and once you loot an item, regardless of job, you are locked out on loot until the next week. This is the most restrictive option.

    5) My recommendation - Run CT as many times as you want per week but allow the player to loot one piece of gear PER JOB. If I loot a CNJ/WHM/SCH item, I can't loot on another one of that type of the next week, but I can still loot on a THM/SMN item if I wanted to. This removes the restriction slightly and lets you gear your alts at a moderate pace(which in my case is the point of CT since I am almost all ilvl90).

The solution is not solvable honestly. If people want 100% drop rate you get these stupid lockouts. If you didn't have them the content would last literally a week for some people if that.

They just need to remove the garenteed drops.

    1) 30% get an armor item
    2) 30% get a crafting item (new tier or something that is not vanity only or vendor trash, screw the OH NOES THE RMT crap that the devs are petrified of... holding the game back )
    3) 33% get some alagan gold pieces (5k I think) and a token which can be traded for gear if you collect so many.

Do this and remove all lockouts. No limits.

The always getting reward sounds nice... but it leads to this reality. It simply WILL NOT WORK in a mmo.

Why was this deemed a good idea? Because it artificially inflates the length of time that content will be run? No, seriously... why was this idea? I'd much rather have a coil type lockout where useful gear doesn't get scarped.

this is what I said, there is NOTHING that will be more frustrating then seeing perfectly good gear that people can and want to use, be destroyed for...basically no reason. This system forces you to either roll on early items and lose your chance if you get something and risk seeing a great end dungeon item scrapped, or to NOT roll and let items go to waste int he chance you see something else you want. It's just bad. REALLY BAD. No lockout system should EVER force players to scrap items that have dropped and can be used. There are better ways to limit people, like the typical raid locks.

Takes longer to gear up in ilvl80 gear than it does ilvl90, tell me wasnt CT supposed to be used to gear up before coil? Why would I bother doing it now for anything other than the first time?

I Dunno that BIG MMO, you know the one, amongst others tend to give out 2+ Items 100% of the time per boss(in Raids) but randomly based on its Loot table. Seeing people get loot for an Alt class on a greed roll is surely much better than seeing "Yet another" Item go unlooted by anyone in your party due to fear of being locked out on something for your main class. Or maybe I'm alone on that train of thought?

My first experience with CT loot.

I could use a couple ilvl 80 pieces for my WAR. But I decided to greed a pair of DRG boots for my DRG alt because I figured it would be better than my current lvl 70 boots on my DRG. I didn't take a lot of time to *think* about this decision because the timer's ticking down and the group wants to move forward.

    My takeaways are:
It's sort of a sidegrade in stats because I lose ACC and don't have other gear currently to make up the lost ACC.

It's ugly as sin when worn with my DL gear.

And now I'm locked out of CT gear for the week (unless the FC wants to get a run together and needs an 8th)

So it was a disappointing experience overall.

I feel like it would be better if the limits were extended to 1 Need and 1 Greed per week (or *maybe* 2 Greeds). That leaves you the ability to hold out for what you really want, and gives you 1 free "well, if no one else wants it" piece to get.

Especially when the loot level is inferior both to coil and myth gear.
